Guest Designing at Newton's Nook

What a blessing and a privilege to have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer over at Newton's Nook Designs.  I've been such a fan of Newton's Nook art for a very long time; but I never really owned any of their AWESOME products until quite recently.  When I was presented with the opportunity to guest design for Newton's Nook, I jumped on the opportunity.  What a treat it was working with these adorable products.
My first card was created using white cardstock and patterned papers from the Pastels Basic 6x6 Paper Pad and the Springtime 6x6 Paper Pad that I machine stitched together.  I used a piece of white cardstock that I inked, splattered and stamped with sentiments found in the adorable Newton Hangs Out Stamp Set.  I colored the image with my Copics and used the coordinating Newton Hangs Out Dies to cut the adorable tree (stamped onto cork paper) holding Newton.
I used the Frames & Tags Dies to cut the little tags that I cut from scraps of the patterned papers listed above.  I clipped them together with a Tim Holtz Clip and added some Baker's Twine.  I like adding small accents like this, and my Newton's Nook inventory is sparce.  This is me trying to be creative with what I've got.
To be honest with you all, I could have gone crazy ordering cute stamp/die sets from Newton's Nook.  They carry SO many adorable sets, and these cards just came together so easily because of how adorable all these images are.  You really can't go wrong with these darling and super fun stamps.  So anyway, the next stamp/die set I chose to work with for my Guest Design spot with Newton's Nook is their sweet Newton's Birdhouse.
Once again, I used white cardstock for the base of the card.  I used the same two paper pads - the Pastels Basic 6x6 Paper Pad and the Springtime 6x6 Paper Pad that I machine stitched together in creating my base.  Similar to my first card, I cut a smaller piece of water watercolor paper that I inked on to create a messy background.
I used the adorable Newton's Birdhouse Stamp Set to stamp the darling Newton and birdhouse images.  I colored these images using my Copics.  I cut the image using the coordinating Newton's Birdhouse Dies.  The smaller images (birds and hears) are also found in this same set, so I stamped and cut several small images for the background of the second card.  I used the Frames & Tags Dies again to cut the small tags from paper scraps.
Thanks so much for visiting me here, everyone.  I will be sharing this post on my Instagram Page as well, but your visits/comments on either/both are greatly appreciated.  I hope you have a wonderfully creative and happy week.  And by the way, THANK YOU to Newton's Nook Designs for this amazing opportunity to Guest Design for your amazing company.

I'm playing along in the following challenges with these fun cards:

Inky Paws Challenge at Newton's Nook - Challenge #140 - Sketch Challenge - I didn't add the circle (as seen in the sketch) underneath my focal point/sentiment.  I placed my image (second card - lower) in the same position as found in the sketch but just omitted the circular element.
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Anything Goes"

Blessings,
Karen
