"You Got This" - Coffee

Hello, friends!  If you're here at my blog today, I surely do thank you for the visit.  I had a chance to create a card, once again, that was just for fun.  No Design Team assignments or pressure....just me in my craft room having a little fun.  I hadn't pulled out my fun old October Afternoon patterned papers and stickers, etc., in a while; so I put some together and machine stitched them to create my fun card base.  It's easy to see why I've always loved October Afternoon and why I have such an extensive stash of it.  I chose a coffee-themed card today because I was inspired by the new challenge over at Mod Squad.

The coffee mug, its sleeve, and the fun sentiment are from a Joy Clair stamp set called Coffee Lovers.  I use this set quite a bit, and I love the coffee cups and fun sentiments in this set.  The ribbons, seam binding, baker's twine, stamens and sweetheart blossoms are all from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  They always have the perfect accents for every project.

I put two October Afternoon journalling stickers together to create a space for stamping the sentiment.  I also stamped the coffee beans from this fun stamp set. as well as the different steam stamps that are coming out of the coffee cup.

I also used the patterned papers for the coffee cup by stamping it several times (on different patterns) and paper-piecing them together.  I did also do some coloring with my Copics.   It's never a stretch for me to make a coffee card, so this challenge was a great one for me to be inspired by.   I love giving them to all my coffee-loving friends and relatives....especially when we're meeting for coffee.

Here are the challenges that inspired me and where I'm  linking up my coffee card:

Come Play Along at Word Art Wednesday

Hello, sweet blog friends!  Welcome by my blog today on this wonderful Wednesday.  I'd sure LOVE to have you come by Word Art Wednesday to link up your art with us.  Our FABULOUS sponsor for this new challenge is Joy Clair Stamps, and they're offering one lucky person a $25 gift certificate to their store.
While I continue to have issues with my printer (and don't plan to buy a new one), I was unable to print the word art/scripture (offered for free on the Word Art Wednesday Blog).  And so, because Joy Clair is our sponsor, and I happen to be on their Design Team....I used some of their FABULOUS stamps to create my card for this challenge.  I started with some cute Crate Paper patterned papers from a line called Farmhouse, and I machine stitched them and inked all the edges.
Next, I used my watercolors to create a fun background that I painted on a white watercolor paper.  I stamped my sentiment using the sweet new Be Wise Stamp Set and I embossed it in white.  I splattered some acrylic paint on top of the embossed sentiment.  I also stamped the cute flowers on the water-colored paper using the Saved By Grace Stamp Set, and I placed them on my card to adorn the sentiment.  I just love how these bright colors accent the lovely sentiment.
I sure do hope that you'll come by Word Art Wednesday and play along with us.  You could be the lucky winner of this awesome Joy Clair prize, and I can't wait to see your beautiful art.  Have a blessed week!

Karen

The Cutting Cafe Visits Joy Clair Stamps

Hello, all my creative friends!  Welcome by today as I post a really fun project I created for Joy Clair Stamps along with our friends, and partners this month, at the Cutting Cafe.  We have combined some of the amazing files from The Cutting Cafe with Joy Clair Stamps this month to cross-promote and showcase both company's fabulous products.  I had a lot of fun making my projects.
Today I'm sharing my version of a Cutting Cafe cutting file called Pie Slice Template and it is almost as delicious as an actual piece of pie.  Now, I'll be honest here...there's no pie inside this box.  Instead, I filled it with some little candies.  Once I had the file printed, cut, folded and taped together, I used some Crate Paper patterned papers and chipboard to adorn the pie box.  I used several of the arrows from the Inspirational Arrows Stamp Set from Joy Clair Stamps.
I added some chipboard arrows as well as the stamped arrows, and I wrapped some natural burlap string around the chipboard arrow on top.  I stamped the feather (twice on the side of the pie box) using the feather found in the Unashamed Stamp Set.
I also stamped the top of the box (the smaller triangle on the Pie Slice Template) using a sentiment (You're On Your Way) from the Going Places Stamp Set, and the cactus found in the Blossom Stamp Set.  You can see how everything works together so well, and how all the different sets compliment one another.
Be sure to stop by both Joy Clair Stamps as well as The Cutting Cafe to see all the fabulous projects being shared this month by all the Design Team Members from both teams.  That's LOTS of great inspiration.  And, you'll be sure to find something that excites you and gives you some great new ideas.

I hope you'll visit again soon.
