Sending Love Bookmark w/Creative Worship

Hello, friends and thanks for visiting.  I don't normally share "just" a bookmark as a project.  However, I am under a bit of a pressure crunch this month to complete all my art assignments so that I can go spend some much-needed time with my (very elderly) parents in Minnesota.  They need my help, and I'm blessed to be able to go.  So, for this reason, I've been busy making all my cards and projects for the month.  For this particular post, I decided to create two projects in one. This pretty card and bookmark duo showcases some of the NEW Release items from Creative Worship.  They are SO awesome.

For the bookmark, I used white cardstock and the Bookmarks & More Dies to cut my bookmark.  I painted the entire bookmark with Pistachio Oxide Ink.  I stamped the top of the bookmark with the sweet tag found in the NEW Spring Tag Collage Stamp Set.  I used the little topper (black cardstock) and I used a sentiment (sending love) from this set.  The coordinating Tag & More Dies allowed me to cut those small tag piece (topper and sentiment).  In fact, there are several different sentiment strips in this sweet new set that will fit each of the (four) lovely sentiments in the NEW Spring Tag Collage Stamp Set.

I stamped the bottom portion of the bookmark, as well as the background of the sentiment, using Texture Tiles 1 Stamp Set (grid image).  I splattered the card and bookmark with Oxide Inks and painted the flowers (which I layered) with the Oxide Inks.  I ran a bit of jute through the top of my bookmark.  It's fairly simple, and this sweet set of Bookmarks & More Dies allows you to easily make bookmarks which are always a nice little gift.  The final addition to this little bookmark was adding the John 3:16 ticket at the bottom.  This sweet stamp is also found in the wonderful NEW Spring Tag Collage Stamp Set and the coordinating ticket die-cut is found in the NEW Tag & More Dies.

The matching card uses the Stitched Rectangle Dies for the base, and I used the gorgeous NEW Heart Doily Stencil on the background with Pistachio Oxide Ink.  At the bottom of this card, I stamped a definition using the lovely NEW Faith Definitions 2 Stamp Set.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is also found in the Spring Tag Collage Stamp Set.  The sentiment strip was cut using the Tag & More Dies.

Oh, Happy Day w/Creative Worship Stamps

Hello, sweet blog friends and crafters.  It's always a treat to have you visit me here, and I hope you know how truly grateful I am for your visits here.  As I've mentioned many times, I feel so very blessed to be on the Design Team at Creative Worship Stamps.  They carry so many great products and, most importantly, they're a Christian-owned company with a focus on glorifying God through our art.  How perfect.  So, as I watched my talented Design Teammates create these lovely pages in their mini art journals, I was in awe.  I knew that I wanted to try this.  Then....I found out that they carry these SWEET Spiral Bound Watercolor Mixed Media Mini Sketchbooks at Creative Worship, I was so excited.

I'm pretty sure that every cardmaking crafter knows who Melissa Phillips is.  She's amazing, right?  Well, she had used some of these lovely papers on a card recently, and I just had to know where she got them.  She steered me in the right direction, and I purchased these lovely Paper Rose Vintage Rose Basics 6x6 Paper Pad.  I used the Stitched Tags Dies for the tag and two circles, and I stamped them using the Going Postal Stamp Set

There are snippets of vintage sheet music, scraps of canvas and burlap, and a small ticket from my stash.  I used the pretty Sketched Roses Stamp Set for the roses, which I doubled for additional texture.  The background is stamped using images from the lovely Vintage Snippets Stamp Set and Faith Definitions 1 Stamp Set.  Some natural jute is bundled up and tucked under the larger rose.  The sentiment I used can be found in the Typed Thoughts Stamp Set and was cut out using the coordinating Typed Thoughts Dies.

The pages in the Spiral Bound Watercolor Mixed Media Mini Sketchbooks are 3.5" x 5.5" which is pretty small.  I absolutely LOVE💖this size because you can pack a whole lot of cuteness into these sweet little pages.  Why not stop by Creative Worship Stamps and treat yourself to a few new stamps and a cool new Spiral Bound Watercolor Mixed Media Mini Sketchbooks ?  You won't regret it, I'm sure.

Guest Designing at Creative Artiste

Hello, sweet blog friends.  Welcome by today as I share a (rare) Art Journal page that I created for the wonderful challenge blog Creative Artiste Mixed Media Designs.  I was blessed to have won a (fairly) recent challenge and was asked to be the August Guest Designer for Challenge #107 at Creative Artiste, and I was excited about that.  While I don't normally share my Art Journal pages, it's nice to photograph them every now and then.  If you keep an Art Journal or do any type of Mixed Media art, I do hope you'll come link it up in their amazing challenges.

On the (right) inside page, I did some stencilling, while adding paper and corrugated cardboard to the left side of this page.  I tucked in a cut Tim Holtz ephemera vintage ticket and used some of my much-coveted vintage scotch tape.  As this roll of the tape emptied.......I sighed deeply.  The stamped imaged may be Tim Holtz, I'm not completely certain.  The HELLO sentiment is from Stamp Simply.

On the left (inside) page, I did some messy Gessso stencilling.  I also added the Eucalyptus Leaves, bundled brown string, a Prima butterfly paperclip, an antique milk cap, and a strip of cream burlap topped with cream crochet lace.  I love the different textures that ribbons and materials bring to Art Journal pages.  The old photos are those of my Maternal Grandmother and her identical twin sister.

My journalling is tucked underneath the stamped image.  There are so many great layers of texture and richness in this project.  It's fun to see how to minimal colors draw on one another.  I do hope that you will stop by Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge to share your Mixed Media creations with us.  It will be great to see what you come up with to share in this fun challenge.  Happy crafting, friends.

Seth Apter Designs Visits Word Art Wednesday

Welcome by today, everyone.  Today's an exciting day at Word Art Wednesday as we have a COOL new sponsor, Seth Apter Designs.  Seth's store is filled with all sorts of great Mixed Media crafting goods to help you create something WONDERFUL.  I was SUPER excited when I first spoke with Seth and he agreed to sponsor a challenge for us at Word Art Wednesday.  I, admittedly, know very little about Mixed Media; although it's something that's always intrigued me.  When I looked through Seth's AWESOME store, I was surprisingly excited and inspired.  I decided right then that I would push myself to create something from the Mixed Media wheelhouse, and that is what I came up with to share with you today using my new Seth Apter Paints.

AND....let me just say that his AWESOME products make it EASY (even for a girl like me who creates within my safe little "box" all the time) to create something fun and new/different.  I was immediately drawn to Seth's fabulous Paint Sets.  When I first fell in love with the colors in Seth's Retired #5 Paper Artsy Paint Set, I was bummed out to learn that the set was out of stock.  I waited patiently, and when this gorgeous paint set came back in stock, I grabbed a set immediately.  And let me tell you...I'm SO glad that I did.  I had SO much fun playing and creating with these lovely colors of rich, creamy paint.

The base is a piece of thick cardboard that I painted with the Hint of Mint Paint, and is then painted the entire base with Tim Holtz Crackle Paint and a thin layer of Mod Podge.  I covered the base with a piece of regular scrappy old burlap, but I'm wishing I'd cut it smaller so you could see the crackled base.  Next, I used a layered Stencil Set to create a canvas background by painting the larger images on the canvas in Squid Ink Paint, and then doing the complimentary stencil design in the Turquoise Paint.  There are so many great Paints Sets at Seth Apter Designs.

Next, I cut several hearts of different sizes and again painted them with each of these four alternating colors, including the sweet Pink Pixie Dust Paint.  The way these colors compliment one another is absolutely stunning.  I also added some craft glue to adhere several fun WOW Embossing products including Microbeads, Prills and Glitter.  Seth Apter Designs carries his own amazing line of WOW Embossing Products along with Mini Stamp Sets, Stencils, and SO much more.  I also inked a piece of cheesecloth with Tim Holtz Burlap Ink, and I shredded it a bit and placed it under the canvas hearts.

I also made a quick tag using layers of Gesso, some textures, more Gesso, and more of these wonderful Paints from Seth Apter.  You can see the big "CRACK" right down the middle of my tag.  I got that crack by using my heat tool.  I'd also thought about inking it, but I wanted those gorgeous Paint colors to be the STAR of my tag.  They are SO pretty!

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Simon Says Crack It Up - I used Tim Holtz crackle paint on my cardboard base.  Sadly, (as I explained above) it's mostly covered by the burlap piece (I should have cut that smaller), as the crackled base is a cool look.  You can see it much better in real life where you can peek through the burlap.  You can also see the huge CRACK(s) right down the middle of my tag.  I got these cracks in my tag by using the heat tool on the drying paints.
