You're Snow Much Fun

Welcome back to my blog again today, friends.  My good blog friend, Gail, recently inquired as to my lack of activity in blogland lately.  She was absolutely correct.  I had found myself in a creative slump, and Gail gave me the encouragement I needed to find my creative mojo and get back to crafting.  In the past few days, I've been a busy little crafter.  I've even had time to enter a few challenges that I love and don't get to to enter as often as I'd like.  I made this card and the other Newton's Nook card I posted earlier today using some of their adorable stamped images along with some bright fun patterned papers.  Thank you again, Gail.
The image (girl with latte) is from the Pumpkin Latte Stamp Set from Newton's Nook.  I colored the image with my Copics.  The sentiment (You're Snow Much Fun) is from the Moose Mountain Stamp Set.  The patterned papers I used are from an older American Crafts 6x6 patterned paper pad I had in my stash.  I chose this paper pad because it matched the color scheme I wanted.  Well, that and....I have too much paper.  So, I do try to use patterned paper on most everything.

I did a bit of machine stitching on my card, some inking here and there, and a Paper Sweeties stamp for the word "friend" at the top.  The sentiment is somewhat funny, of course, being that I live in Nevada where it's in the 70s most days now; but this card is going to a friend up North where there's still snow.  I can't imagine living in the snow again at my age.  I did it when I was younger, but I'll pass on that for my "later years", thank you.  Although, her boots do look really cute with that jacket and scarf.
Below you'll see the challenges that inspired me and where I'll be linking up/playing along this week.  Thanks again for visiting me.  Oh, by the way....Newton's Nook is sponsoring the current challenge at Word Art Wednesday offering one lucky person a $20 Gift Certificate.  I hope you'll come over at play along with us at Word Art Wednesday as well.

Blessings,
Karen
Newton's Nook - Crafty Paws Challenge #145 - Friendship - As mentioned above, I used the Pumpkin Latte Stamp Set from Newton's Nook for the image, and a sentiment from the Moose Mountain Stamp Set.  The card is going to my friend up North - I miss her (but not the snow).  lol

Newton's Nook Sponsors Word Art Wednesday

Hello, everyone, and welcome by my blog today as I share a quick card I made for the new challenge over at Word Art Wednesday.  Our current challenge is sponsored by the wonderful Newton's Nook, so I decided to make a card using some of their darling stamps.  I used some bright patterned papers from Doodlebug to create my background.  I stamped Newton using an image from the Newton Loves Coffee Stamp Set, and a sentiment from the adorable Pumpkin Latte Stamp Set and I colored Newton with my Copics.
I added a piece of Solid Light Pink Baker's Twine to the top of my tags.  A few sequins here and there were the finishing touches to this simple card.  I really wanted the adorable Newton to be the focal point of my card, and he's stealing the show once again (as he well should).  I just love how bright and fun this card turned out....it's just a happy card.
Here's where I'll be linking up this card and playing along:
Newton's Nook - Inky Paws Challenge #145 - Friendship Theme - I used Using a Newton Image from Newton Loves Coffee and a sentiment from Pumpkin Latte Stamp Set to make this thank you card for a very special friend.  Friends are always doing sweet things, and they deserve to be THANKED for their kindness.  I'm SO grateful for my friends.
