He Is Risen w/Stamp Simply

One of the things that I love most about Stamp Simply Clear Stamps is the fact that no matter what type of card I need to make, I know that I can always count on them to have a stamp set with the most absolutely PERFECT sentiment.  This is such a blessing because sometimes it's hard to find just the right words, but Stamp Simply will have exactly what I'm trying to say - and in the most beautiful stamp sets that help me create lovely cards.  Knowing that I can lift the spirits of others and be an encouragement to them by sending a Stamp Simply hand-made card is such a joy.  It's also so nice knowing that I can find pretty much every scripture stamp I could possibly want; and that's so nice to have access to as well.  I love to stamp an encouraging scripture on the inside of my cards, and again, Stamp Simply always has just what I need.  This card was very much inspired by a similar card made last year by my talented Design Teammate, Esther Asbury.

This card started with cardstocks (black and natural white) that I layered together.  I used an additional piece of the natural white cardstock to stamp the bunny and eggs using the Easter is for Jesus Stamp Set.  I stamped the bunny a second time and cut it out using the coordinating Easter is for Jesus Dies, and I placed it as the focal point using 3-D Foam Tabs.

The top layer (so pretty, right?) was stamped onto a piece of Carta Bella patterned paper using the gorgeous Vintage Seed Packet Background Stamp in Graphite Black Ink.  The center of the stamp was cut using the coordinating Vintage Ovals & Twigs Dies.  This is one stamp set that I highly recommend.  It's so versatile, and it makes the sweetest background for any card.  The sentiments

A Caffeinated Style Merry Christmas

Like many of you, my sweet creative friends, I've been playing along and hopping along in the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenges for many years now.  This month, for the first time, I have the honor of being a Guest Designer for this FUN challenge.  We all have our own "go to" beverage to keep us caffeinated and/or hydrated while crafting.  Right?  Coffee, tea and cocoa cards have always been some of my favorites; especially when combined with the Christmas theme.  What a wonderful combination for a coffee-loving girl like me.  I really am blessed to be one of the Guest Designers this month at the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge Blog.  I sure hope you'll be inspired to stop by and share your caffeinated Christmas cards in their FUN challenge this month.  The sponsor for this challenge is Not 2 Shabby Shop.  They're offering one lucky participant a $15 credit to their FAB store.  The Not 2 Shabby Shop carries so many great products that you'll love.

I used a kraft cardstock for the base, and I layered up my card with lots of yummy patterned papers from a wonderful line called Bundled Up by Crate Paper.  Once I'd layered all those delicious papers, I attached a chipboard frame also from the Crate Paper Bundled Up line.  Inside the frame, I added sequins to create a fun shaker element.  The stack of coffee cups (also stamped on this patterned paper) are from the Have a Cup On Us Stamp Set and I cut them using the Have a Cup On Us Dies from Stamp Simply.  The Merry Christmas sentiment was stamped using the Lantern Light Stamp Set from Creative Worship and was cut using the coordinating Lantern Light Dies.

The strip going up the right-hand side of my card starts with a tall thin tag from the Bundled Up line.  On top of that, I layered the three Stamp Simply coffee mugs, a candy cane, berries and bits of foliage that were all cut using the Lovely Layers Candy Cane Die Set from Honey Bee Stamps Die Set out of scraps of paper from this line that I own way too much of still.  Crate Paper (most every line of it) has always been a weakness of mine, and it's SO darling that I now own copious amounts of it.  For this reason, I enjoy stamping onto patterned paper scraps sometimes.  This also relieves me of having to color things (another skill where I'm lacking).  Let's be honest.

My Halloween BOO at Make My Monday

Are you ready for some spooky fun and another great challenge?  Well, it's time for Challenge #237 at Make My Monday and there's a fun Spooky/Halloween theme this time.  Here in the US, Halloween is in just ten more days.  The challenges at Make My Monday are based out of the UK, and I'm not really sure if Halloween is a "thing" there or not.  Either way, you can play along and share anything that says Halloween/Spooky or Autumn to you.  We just look forward to seeing your creativity at play.

For this card, I used a cute slimline die from Whimsy Stamps called Slimline Scallop Die.  I just love the cute little openings.  They're pierced (have holes), so you could actually stitch them if you wanted (which I've done before - SO cute).  This time, instead, I inked each one with oxide inks. I hand-cut a wavy piece of paper that I used to section off a piece of the card (middle) that I rubbed with oxide inks to create the purple/pink background.

How cute!  Not really all that "spooky", but that's quite alright with me.  I used a (long since retired) stamp set from Simon Says Stamp called Too Cute To Spook.  I colored all the darling images with my Copics.  The cute sprinkles around my card are Candy Glazed Confetti from Whimsy Stamps.  They're fun to use in shaker cards or as photo props.

Simon Say Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Spooky/Halloween - My card is cute, but super "spooky", too.  Right?  LOL

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Spooky/Add Some Purple - I absolutely love adding purple to my Halloween cards.  I used a hand-cut "wavy stencil" or block to add my inked border to incorporate the purple at the center of my card.  I also used some purple on the scalloped window, etc.

Going Batty w/Whimsy Stamps

Are you ready for Trick-or-Treaters?  I'm all set here at our house.  While I'm not a big fan of Halloween and what it represents, I do participate in Halloween. This is the one and only time of year when up to 100 children (and their parents) will come knocking on MY door asking for something.  I make up really cute treat bags that include yummy candy treats, Halloween pencils, plastic spiders and "fangs", Halloween stickers and other novelties, AND....most importantly, I include a Christian Halloween Tract letting these dear ones know that Jesus loves them, died for them, and wants to be their Savior.

My card uses basic black cardstock for the base.  I layered that with striped patterned papers from the Fabulous Florals 6x6 Paper Pack.  I also added some sweet Gingham Ribbons to the card for texture and FUN.  That sweet candy corn shape was cut using the new Primitive Candy Corn Die Set, and it is absolutely adorable.  I rubbed each section with pink oxide inks.  Whimsy Stamps has such fun and fabulous products.

I used the Batty Die Set for all those not-so-spooky bats.  But first, I rubbed basic white cardstock with a fun new product I picked up at Picket Fence.  It's called Paper Glaze Luxe and the color I used is Black Eyeliner.  As you can see in the photo above, it gives the bats a glimmery sparkle.  I also cut the stitches and hashtag image from the paper treated with the Paper Glaze Luxe.  These small cuts are also found in the Primitive Candy Corn Die Set.

All around my card you'll see several different sprinkles.  They're from two different Confetti Mixes found at Whimsy Stamps.  Whether you're a fan of Halloween or not, there are lots of great products waiting for you at Whimsy Stamps.  I have fun creating with all their wonderful products, and I think you will as well.  Thanks for visiting me here today, friends.  I always appreciate you.

I Hope This Perks You Up

Any time I see a coffee challenge, I love playing along.  No need to wonder why.  It's because I love coffee and crafting.  I almost always have a caffeinated beverage next to me when I'm in my craft room.  It's my creative fuel, I suppose.  There are a few fun coffee challenges taking place right now where I'm excited to share my card; and I sure had a great time creating it.

I started with basic black cardstock for my base.  The patterned paper is from JilliBean Soup and I cut it with a curved edge (by hand) and inked it with Mowed Grass Ink.  The coffee cups I stamped, colored and cut were done using a very old stamp set from my stash from V's Sweet Ideas where I used to serve on the Design Team.  The tree stump, darling animals and leaves were stamped using the Woodland Littles Stamp Set from Hello Bluebird.

The little holly and ivy images and sentiment are from Paper Sweeties where I also served on the Design Team.  Yes, it's a blessing to have a large stash of stamps.  I used some crumbled styrofoam to create the "snow" on my card.  This is a trick I learned long ago from my creative friend, Esther.  She's always got a trick or two up her creative sleeve.

Without fail, every Autumn I find myself pulling out this one particular stamp set from my stash.  It's an old Papertrey Ink set called Pumpkin Patch, and if you were to look back at my blog; I'd guess I've used this stamp set at least once each year since I first purchased it in 2015.  It's always nice to pull things out of our stash and use them again.

I used black cardstock layered with green cardstock, and then I used a piece of cream cardstock along with a FUN layered pumpkin stencil to create my Fall background.  I used Pumpkin, Marmalade, and Mowed Grass Tim Holtz inks to rub on the background using this cool stencil.  I used a length of Moss & Cream Gingham Ribbon and a length of Black & White Bold Check Gingham Ribbon on my card.

The sentiment circle was cut using a die-cut from Alinacutle.  In the center, I cut another circle using an Amazing Grace Hemstitch Cirlce Die.  On that, I stamped my sentiment (Many Thanks) and the cute pumpkins using the Papertrey Ink set called Pumpkin Patch.  It's really a simple card, but I like how it turned out; and I was happy to use this stamp set once again.

As You Like It Challenge - Favourite Die and Why - My favourite type of die-cut to use is almost always a sentiment die.  This can be either a banner, a circle or another shape; but we all need to showcase our sentiments and that's why a sentiment die is my favorite.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog - Simon Says "Make Your Own Background" - I made my background by using a layered pumpkin stencil and some Tim Holtz inks.

Dar & Diane's Double D Challenge Blog - Fall Leaves - My leaves are small - just on the stencilled background and the little stems on my pumpkins.  I was really drawn to the orange and yellow tones with touches of green.  That always says Autumn to me.

Bubbles Say I Love You

One of the (many) things our oldest Granddaughter, Taylee, loves to do with me is blow bubbles.  So when I saw this fun bubbles die-cut, I just couldn't resist it.  How fun, right?  In fact, I had a lot of fun making this card with her in mind the entire time.  I picked some old patterned papers from Crate Paper in some of her favorite pastels, and I got to work.

I used shiny gold paper for the bubble bottle caps and the bubble wands.  I added some sequins to the paper along with some sweet little clay star pieces from Twiddler's Nook.  How adorable are these sweet  little pieces?  I used some coffee bean pieces from Twiddler's Nook the other day if you missed that.  They're super cute, too.

I just LOVE these soft sweet colors, and I know that my sweet Taylee with love getting this card in the mail along with some new bubble-blowing toys I found for her at Home Goods the other day.  They have the cutest stuff there.  I find cute little trinkets for my Grandkids there fairly often.  And I can get a few things that I need (or want) as well.

TIME OUT Challenges - Challenge #256 - CASE Sarah Gray - I'm very familiar with the word C.A.S.E. a card.  When I first started crafting, I was a big scrapbooker, and I'd call it "Scraplifting" a layout when I'd "CASE" a layout.  I always give credit to those who inspire me.  Sarah's lovely card inspired me with her fabulous colors of teal, pink and gold, the textures and splattery randomness of her card.  Love it.  Funky Fossil Designs is a FABULOUS company and I own and use several of Sarah's wonderful stencils.

Cut It Up Challenge Blog - Challenge #296 - This Makes Me Happy - Blowing bubbles makes me happy, making this card made me happy, and spending time with my granddaughter makes me happy.  Pretty much everything about this card says HAPPY.  Obviously, I used several die-cuts on this card (the bubble bottles, caps, wands, and the sweet, scalloped frame as well).

Have Faith w/Stamp Simply

Welcome by today, sweet crafty friends.  It's always so nice to have you stop by my blog, and today I'm sharing a card that I created for Stamp Simply Clear Stamps using a few of their awesome products.  No matter what kind of cards I need to make, I always know that Stamp Simply will have the perfect stamps to accommodate my needs.  They carry the loveliest sentiment stamps, dies and so many other amazing things to help you create something beautiful.

This card started with basic black cardstock and then a piece of woodgrain patterned paper from the Craft Consortium's Wood Textures 6x6 Paper Pad.  Once I had layered those, I cut a tag out of recycled corrugated cardboard using the Sizzix Tag Dies.  I tied a piece of Champagne Baker's Twine through the hole in the tag.  I stamped the image onto another piece of the Craft Consortium's Wood Textures 6x6 Paper Pad paper and cut it to fit inside the tag.  The sentiment is from the awesome Farmhouse Scriptural Quotes Stamp Set which contains several great sentiments.

I ran a length of the May Arts 1.5" Ivory Crochet Lace across the card and the pretty flower and leaves can be found in the May Arts Vintage Sampler Shabby Rosettes with Leaves Collection.  There are so many great trims and embellishments to help compliment the lovely stamps and dies available at Stamp Simply.  There's never a shortage of AWESOME products to be found at Stamp Simply.

Give Thanks Again and Again

Hello, and thanks for stopping by today.  This card I'm sharing today is one that you may recognize because I've created this card before for Stamp Simply.  I liked how it turned out so much that I used the same suppplies as the first time around, and I recreated it using almost exactly the same things.  The only differences are one of the patterned papers is different, and I also added some embellishments this time.

This card started with black cardstock and the beautiful patterned papers found in the Carta Bella Welcome Autumn 6x6 Pad following a card layout inspired by my talented teammate, Esther.  I just LOVE these papers and wanted to show you how easy it is to make a pretty card using them.  The stamped sentiment is found in the new Falling Leaves Stamp Set.

One fun thing I did for this card that I didn't do last time I made this card was to create a matching envelope.  To do so, I simply attached another one of the journalling cards found in the Carta Bella Welcome Autumn 6x6 Pad.  Making a matching envelope is quick and easy and it makes card-giving extra fun.

Happy Birthday w/Crate Paper

Welcome by again, friends!  Thanks for visiting me and taking a peek at this sweet little card I made this afternoon.  I have a large collection of Crate Paper products; and when I say large, I actually mean huge.  As many of you know (because I say it a lot), Crate Paper is my all-time favorite paper, etc. company.  Second only to October Afternoon - and I have a lot of that as well.  lol

I started with black cardstock and layered some pretty Crate Paper patterned papers that I die-cut with my Crimped Frames Dies from The Greetery.  I seem to be using them quite a bit lately.  They're just so cute.  I layered the Crate Paper patterned papers, stickers, etc.

I did a bit of machine stitching (in black) around the edge of the card.  My Brother sewing machine is incredibly confusing when loading the bobbin and I struggle with it EVERY time.  Right now, it's not working right (bobbin not loaded properly) so I can only straight stitch, and it's a little wonky.  I'll be watching the YouTube video AGAIN this afternoon.  Grrrrrrr.

I'd been seeing a lot of these wool felt balls in other artists' photos and I've always thought they're just so sweet.  Well, I had to find some for myself; and in true "me fashion", I bought every color.  I know.  The only other things of note for this card are a bit of watercolor painting I did on the patterned papers, and a small bit of stencilling on the patterned paper as well.  Thanks so much for visiting me.

Christmas Is Coming at SNSS

Christmas will be here before we know it.  When I actually think about it, I get a bit overwhelmed with all that needs to be done before company arrives and things get crazy (the good kind of crazy, of course).  We're getting our middle daughter, her husband, and two of our grandbabies (Bennett 2 and Bethany 2 mo.) for a whole month.  Before then, I've got LOTS to do....including Christmas cards.  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps is helping me with that.

I started with a blue and a red cardstock, and then I made the mistake of stamping the entire background (and ornaments) onto cork.  I'm now wishing I had only used the cork for the ornaments; but I wasn't going to start over.  I used the Vintage Doily Stencil for the first background (blue) and then stamped over that using the Texture Tiles 1 Stamp Set.

You can see here in the close-up photo where I went wrong by using all that cork.  It's just too busy or something.  Nonetheless, let's move on.  I machine stitched the edges of everything using gold thread.  I also hung the ornaments from gold thread.  I used the Wonder of Christmas Stamp Set for the (Merry Christmas) sentiment.

These pretty Christmas ornaments, which I embossed in gold, can be found in the new Antique Ornaments Stamp Set.  I do LOVE the way you can easily combine all the stamps from Sweet 'n Sassy as they complement one another so nicely.  You're sure to find something awesome when you shop at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and this month there are some really FAB sales so don't miss out on all the inspiration, fun and bargains.  Thanks so much for visiting.

The Card Concept - Challenge #164 - Rustic Holiday - I used several of the warm rustic Winter colors in the photo (reds, gold, browns, warm tones).  I also used cork to represent the wood elements.  I guess my style would be Shabby Chic/Vintage.  I enjoy nontraditional elements and lots of layer/texture.

Delightful

This is what it looks like when I have scraps on my work table.  I find a way to make something with what's in front of me.  I had a few patterned paper scraps left over from another card as well as some wool felt scraps that I wanted to use.  The patterned papers I was using were an old Crate Paper line that had some matching stickers, so I used one of those for the sentiment (Delightful Farm Grown) and I tucked several leaves from the scraps of wool felt I used.

I used the scraps of patterned paper to cover the base and several scalloped borders.  I bundled some Natural Burlap String, tucked in a few Double Head Stamens, and topped that with a Sweetheart Blossom.  Under the sticker sentiment, I placed an ivory doily.  I used a Taylored Expressions stamp set to stamp my coordinating envelope.

Coffee - Life - Always

Welcome by today, friends.  I'm so super grateful to have you visit me to take a peek at what I've been creating.  I'm very excited to say that I'm doing a Guest Design spot for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps during October and November.  I was working on some of my cards for October using their lovely stamps; and I got carried away.  I found myself making a card for right now using some of the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

I used some cardstocks and some Crate Paper patterned papers and stickers on my card.  I cut a cute border using their Scalloped Border Dies, and I used their Coffee Talk Stamp Set for my coffee cups.  I love that there are four different coffee  mug images and several cute coffee sentiments in this Coffee Talk Stamp Set.  I know I'll be using this sweet stamp set a lot.  The coffee sentiment is a die-cut from Verve.

The current challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog calls for a matching envelope with your card.  So.....that's exactly what I did.  I used that fourth coffee mug image along with the Texture Tiles 9 Stamp Set for the coffee stains background image.  I did a bit of watercoloring on the envelope as well.  How fun!  Thanks again for stopping by my blog today, and for your comments.  I really appreciate it.
