Trying Some Colorful Options

Hello, friends!  Well, as most of you already know about me....I'm part of few different challenge blog Design Teams.  I love a good challenge as much as the next crafter, and I'm always excited when I find another good one.  Such is the case today because my sweet and talented crafty friend, Darlene, turned me on to yet another fun challenge blog called Colorful Options.  When I saw the gorgeous inspiration photo (below), I just knew that I had to play along in this one.
I used some black, red and white cardstocks and I stamped a striped background in red using a SNSS Grunge Stamp onto the white cardstock to create my background.  I use a leftover snippet of the black cardstock and ran it across the bottom of my card where there was a stamping error to hide.  I also ran some cute gingham hearts across my card.  They're actually ribbons that are stickers, and they come from Swoon Party Shop.  I also cut up some of the extra individual hearts (because the piece I cut was longer than what I needed) and I placed them here and there atop some wool felt hearts I also cut.
I die-cut some hearts from the cardstocks using PTI dies.  I stamped, colored, and die-cut the cute cupcake which is from Paper Sweeties along with the stamped sentiment and the Sweet Cuts Border Dies where I stamped the sentiment.  I tied some Black Licorice Baker's Twine around my card and tied it into a sweet bow.  As I mentioned, this card was inspired by the Colorful Options inspiration photo that you'll find below.  I hope that you will play along in some fun challenges this week, and best of luck in doing so.

Blessings,
Karen

Here are the challenges I mentioned:

Come Play Along With Us

Hello, dear blog friends!  Welcome by my little slice of blogland today.  As most of you know, I run a challenge blog called Word Art Wednesday.  We have been BLESSED with the most amazing sponsors we could ever dream of having.  Our new challenge that started today is being sponsored by the one and only Swoon Party Shop on Etsy.  I first fell in LOVE đź’—with this sweet little shop when my long-time blog inspiration, the talented Melissa Phillips, started using some of the lovely products found at Swoon.  No joke...each and every time I visit Swoon Party Shop, she has more new items.  SO many unique items, and just the most darling products ever.  I think the angel wings were the first item I ever purchase at Swoon.  Aren't they adorable?  They also come in pink, and in white.
My card started with a black cardstock base to which I added one piece of Crate Paper (Emma's Shoppe) patterned paper that I inked with Tim Holtz Spun Sugar Oxide Distress Ink and machine stitched in black.  Next, I printed the scripture art (free download) and inked that paper with Tim Holtz Burlap Oxide Ink and placed inside a Miniature Vintage Glassine Envelope.  To that darling little envelope, I touched the edge of the flap with craft glue and attached some Cosmetic Pink Heart Glitter as well as a Tiny Wooden Heart that I painted light pink.
Towards the bottom of the card, I ran a length of the most precious Scalloped Eyelet Trim,  Blush Pink Ruffled Crochet Trim, and black lace.  At the top of the card, I attached a grungy prim circle tag with metal rim, and I topped that with these LOVELY Black Sparkly Glitter Angel Wings and another Tiny Wooden Heart that I didn't paint.  Seriously, I could spend a slight fortune at this store if I had no restraint because every single item in this shop is SO incredibly cute.  I do hope you'll take the time to stop by Swoon Party Shop to see all their amazing products, maybe treat yourself, and then stop by Word Art Wednesday to play along for your chance to win this awesome prize.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a blessed week.  I'm always so very grateful for your visits and comments.  I really hope you'll join us at Word Art Wednesday.  You could be our lucky winner.

Happy crafting,
Karen

Simply Create Too - Challenge #169 - Stitching Real or Faux - Mine is machine straight stitching in black (which I LOVE to do).
