It's just SO nice to have a week of "Spring Break", or at least of no schooling. For me, that's a welome break. And I will say that my son is also grateful for the break. It's not always easy having Mom for a teacher. We both needed the week to "chill", and not worry about quizzes, tests or lesson plans. He is at a movie with friends of the family, and I just made a card and got it posted, and then I'm off to meet them when the movie gets out. I did rush a little, but I'm glad to have something to post.
I used Simple Stories patterned papers and stickers, some Twinery baker's twine, burgundy jute and pearl stickers from V's Sweet Ideas, a length of Prima lace at the top, some acrylic paint on the edges, sewing machine stitching, and a Melissa Frances rub-on.
I am entering it in the following challenges:
Simon Says Vintage Challenge Blog - Challenge: Quotable: This Melissa Frances rub-on I used is an Irish Proverb. I didn't have room for the rest of the rub-on that said...Irish Proverb. But it is, nonetheless, a quote.
Catered Crop - Flower Power - I've got LOTS of flowers on my patterned paper

365 Cards - Day 86 - "Country" - To me, country means a homespun feeling, which descibes my style quite closely. I like to consider my style to be "country" by using warm inviting colors, vintage lace, machine stitching my edges, and the country twine and jute.
Flourishes Stamps Challenge Blog - Timeless Tuesday #213 - "Grab Some Thread" - I almost always machine stitch my cards. This one is straight-stitched around the patterned papers, on the border, and a zigzag stitch was run at the top of the border strips. I also ran a stitch across the vintage lace at the top, but you can't really see it. Did I mention I love sewing on my projects??!!
