Welcome back by my blog today, friends. I'm sharing a really sweet project that I created using several of my favorite products from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I have LOTS of favorites because they carry LOTS of great products. If you're not familiar yet with this FABULOUS shop, I hope you'll stop by to check out all their AMAZING ribbons and trims as well as loads of great and useful products like Adhesives. Embellishments, Mulberry Flowers and SO much more.
This card was fun to make. I started with a white cardstock base, and layered that with a fun patterned paper. The top layer is another piece of the white watercolor cardstock that I stencilled with a fun heart patterned stencil and some pink and red inks. Next, I used a Papertrey Ink die-cut and some red (and pink) wool felt and ivory polka dot tulle to cut some fun stitching hearts. I stitched the hearts using Solid Ivory Baker's Twine and filled the hearts with sequins. You can see the sequins through the tulle. The Baker's Twine comes in many lovely colors, and works well with stitching dies.
The sentiment is from Stamp Simply Clear Stamps and was stamped onto a little journalling square in black ink. I topped that with some more of the Solid Ivory Baker's Twine, some Sweetheart Blossoms and Miniature Sweetheart Blossoms, small snippets of both Red and White Plaid Houndstooth Ribbon and Light Pink Gingham Ribbon, and some lovely Double Head Stamens. They are SO pretty, and they add so much texture and personality to our cards and projects. They're just $2.19 for a bundle of 400 - what a bargain!!! They come in many colors and are just a wonderful accent. Also, the Baker's Twine is a fantastic product. It also comes in 50+ vibrant colors and costs just $1 for ten yards. At that rate, you can buy several gorgeous colors of Baker's Twine.
The only other things I can think of are some machine stitching with pink thread, a cute stick pin, and the stencilled ink hearts on the background. There are LOTS of great products at Really Reasonable Ribbon to help you create and adorn something lovely. I also used several strips of Scor-Tape to attach my papers together. There are lots of great Adhesives, Hair Accessory Supplies and more found at Really Reasonable Ribbon in addition to the OODLES of gorgeous ribbons and trims. You can also visit the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog often for lots of great inspiration from our Design Team as well as information about special sales and promotions. We enjoy having you stop by. Have a great week and please visit me again soon. I'm always so SUPER grateful for your visits and comments.
Blessings,
Karen
I'm playing along here in these fun challenges:
Double D Challenges: Valentines/Love - I chose the Valentines/LOVE combo theme with my hearts and sentiment. What a "LOVEly" challenge. The pink and red combination in the upper-right of the inspiration photo is what really grabbed my eyes.
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog - LOVE Is In The Air - Yes, LOVE is certainly in the air and all around us. LOVE, sweet love.
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog - LOVE/Hearts - I used a love sentiment and stitched hearts. I absolutely LOVE to play along at SSS and join in both challenges (one or the other) whenever I've able. I'm always SO inspired by the Design Team.
Mod Squad Challenge Blog - It's ALL ABOUT LOVE - Must include the word LOVE, and mine says "LOVE you".
The Card Concept: Sweetheart/Sweets - Challenge #148 - I loved Kim's card with all those layered hearts - that definitely inspired me. And, the gorgeous colors in the inspiration photo (below) inspired me; as well as the layered cupcakes, red raspberries and the lovely hearts. Such an inspiring photo, and I incorporated these elements (layers, colors, textures). I went more with the Sweetheart side, but tried to also "keep it sweet" by adding a few soft touches like stitching, sequins, tulle, etc.
WOW, Beautiful project for our current challenge, VALENTINE LOVE ♥ delightful design and colours.
