Happy Easter w/CutCardStock

Hello, creative friends.  Thanks for stopping by today as I share a sweet cross-stitch Easter card that I created for CutCardStock.  I love using these high-quality cardstocks on my cards and projects.  There's always the perfect weight, color and type of cardstock for each crafting project, and I'm having a lot of FUN designing with them.  Don't miss out on seeing all the fabulous cardstock at CutCardStock.
This card started with a piece of Astrobright Eclipse Black 80 lb Cardstock that I layered with a piece of Natural White 100 lb. Cardstock that I stencilling using various colors of Tim Holtz Oxide Ink and the Delightfully Delicate Stencil.  I'm SO super impressed with the quality of this cardstock.  It's thick and sturdy which is perfect for cross-stitching and for using as a card base.  It's truly amazing; and it comes in a wide variety of beautiful colors to match any and every project.
Next, I cut two different sized cross-stitch "hoops" using a darling die-cut set called Stitchable Oval Hoops from Waffle Flower Stamps.  I found the cute little chick cross-stitch pattern on Pinterest and got busy stitching.  I just winged the Happy Easter stitching using the smaller of two sized hoops.  Both my card base and the embroidery hoops were cut using Natural White 100 lb. Cardstock.  Because this particular cardstock is so thick and sturdy, it made cross-stitching so easy, and I didn't have to worry about my paper ripping.  Perfect.
I added a piece of 1.5" Cream Netting layered with a piece of Moss/Cream Gingham Ribbon.  It's secured in place using a piece of Scor-Tape, and I also tied a big pretty bow with the gingham ribbon and attached it to the middle of my card.  I really wanted the CutCardStock to be the star of this card, and it truly is just that.  Your eyes go directly to the cardstock.  Thanks again for stopping by today, and please know just how much I appreciate you.

I'm sharing this card in the following:

Easy Christmas Ornaments/Gift Toppers with RRR

Have you been seeing all the fabulous little ideas on Pinterest and Instagram lately for making cute little gift tags/ornaments using Baker's Twine, Burlap String and various jutes and ribbons?  Well, I've seen them popping up in my feed everywhere.  I thought I'd give this quick and easy idea a try for myself.  It works well, it's super easy, and these little gift tag/gift toppers look so cute on packages under the tree.  And they can be used as an ornament if the recipient wants to keep them.  Isn't this a sweet idea?  And YOU CAN DO IT.  The trims I used are all ON SALE NOW at Really Reasonable Ribbon.
And if I can attempt these projects, believe me friends, you can do it.  They were easy and fun.  I used a piece of scrap cardboard to draw two different sized trees that I cut with my scissors.  I placed a small piece of Scor-Tape on the back of the cardboard tree to get started.  I attached a small loop (ornament hanger) to the top of each tree using Natural Burlap String.  The Santa ornament uses the same wrapping method of the Baker's Twine, and then the topper and beard are simple pom-poms which can also be done using Baker's Twine.
Next, I wrapped the base of each tree with more of the Natural Burlap String (TEN CENTS/yard) and I wrapped the top part of each tree with Solid Baker's Twine (SEVENTY-FIVE CENTS/yard).  I strung letters beads onto another small length of Natural Burlap String and placed it on the tree (to resemble hanging tinsel or garland on the tree).  This is a great way to add the name to your packages, and like I mentioned, it makes a darling ornament to save.  You can see if this photo (below) how I used a small piece of Scor-Tape to secure the beads on the front of the ornament.
There are so many great trims at Really Reasonable Ribbon and the DISCOUNTS are amazing.  This is the perfect time to stock up on discounted trims, Adhesives, Mulberry Flowers, ribbons and more.  There's lots of fun ideas and inspiration on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog and that's where you'll stay up-to-date on special discounts as the Retirement SALE continues.  Be sure to stop by often.  We're here to help you find the perfect ribbons and trims for your next project.  Here's a photo of one of the trees placed on top of a small package.  This will be tucked under the tree.
This really is the perfect time to grab some of these amazing ribbons and trims before the selection gets more limited.  As time progresses, the bargains will be greater, but the inventory will slowly dwindle. I'd highly suggest grabbing some Baker's Twine or some pretty Gingham Ribbons before they're gone.  There are SO many great choices at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  We hope you'll treat yourself.
Thanks so much for visiting me here today.  If you have the time, I'd LOVE to have you stop by my Instagram Page to FOLLOW me there as well.  It would really be a blessing to me.  It's HARD trying to grow your following on IG and I need all the help I can get.  So, thank you.  I truly appreciate all of you for your love and support.  You're the BEST and you all inspire me so much.

I'm sharing my Santa project here:

Fun New Challenge at The Card Concept

Are you ready for another fun challenge?  My guess is that you're already creating something that will fit in perfectly at the challenge over at The Card Concept.  The beautiful inspiration photo is just a starting place for your creativity.  You can clearly see that I completely ignored the suggested color palette.  Instead, I used the elements I saw that drew my eye.  The items, specifically, that captured my eye include all the darling little cottages/villages that are scattered around the photo.  I also spotted the pretty Christmas wreath in the window, and I loved the black/white plaid or gingham.  SO many pretty elements from which to choose, so....I just include them ALL.  lol
Let me tell you the TRUTH about this card.  My friend and teammate at Creative Worship, the talented Angy Hughes, created the top portion of this card.  She sent it to me along with some lovely stamps, dies and goodies from her stash.  Anyway....my youngest grandson (Benjamin 10 mo.) decided to eat it.  My fault. I left it where he could get at it.  So, I salvaged the top portion of the card and used it to put this together.  The Village Dies, Thoughtful Wreaths Dies and star stamps are from Creative Worship Stamps.  They have SO many fabulous products.
I added a bow that includes lengths of gorgeous Iridescent White String and lovely Blue Jay Seam Binding, and it's topped with a Gold Rhinestone Embellishment and secured in place using Scor-Tape.  Don't miss out on the BIG RETIREMENT SALE taking place now at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The discounts will continue as the store closes its doors forever; but for the very best selection, I'd suggest grabbing a few things before they're gone.  The deals on (my favorite) Baker's Twine are AMAZING. 💗Just thought I'd mention that again.
Like I said, I went with a completely different color scheme than what you see in the photo above.  That doesn't matter!  We just want you to be inspired by SOMETHING....ANYTHING in the photo.  What is calling your name?  Is there anything that you see in the photo that you could create and share with us at The Card Concept?  We'd sure🍬LOVE to have you come play along with us.  There's a PRIZE.  Go check it out, friends.
Can you see all those pretty gold flecks?  SO pretty.  Thank you, Angy.  She did the difficult work on this card.  I just embellished it using a cute sentiment stamp found in the Lantern Light Stamp Set from Creative Worship and lots of great (DISCOUNTED) trims from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  It really would be awesome to have you come play along with us this month at The Card Concept.  It's always more FUN when everyone (including you) plays along.  Happy crafting.

I'm playing along here:

A Cut Above Challenge Blog - December: Anything Goes Using Dies - I used village dies, wreath dies and a sentiment die.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenges - Simon Says "Add Sparkle & Shine" - I added a Gold Rhinestone Embellishment to add some sparkle and shine, and there's also lots of gold sparkle splashed on the top half of the card.

Blessings,

Christmas JOY w/Really Reasonable Ribbon

It made me feel a little bit (or maybe a lot) sad when I first heard that Really Reasonable Ribbon is going out of business.  I've been on this Design Team for over 15 years, and I've really enjoyed it.  But when I heard WHY Really Reasonable Ribbon is going out of business, it made complete sense.  My friend, the Owner of Really Reasonable Ribbon, Bonnie, has recently become a Grandma.
Her sweet new grandson has, rightfully, claimed a BIG piece of her heart.  For this reason, Bonnie has decided to close the doors of this AMAZING long-time business of hers.  But hey...who could blame her?  Certainly not me.  Those grandbabies are SO precious.  They grow up much too quickly; as we've all learned from raising our own kids.  She's not going to miss a minute of this little guy's life, and I couldn't be any more excited for her.  It would be awesome for her to be able to SELL OUT of everything.  Can you be a part of this?  You'd not only be helping out a truly wonderful small-business owner, but you'd be able to really SAVE on lots of fabulous products.
This means BIG SAVINGS for all of us.  Hurray!  It's a great time to stock up on Baker's Twine (currently $0.75 per yard) in many colors solid and striped or Seam Binding at $0.30/yard.  There are fabulous bargains on ribbons, adhesives, hair accessories, embellishments, mulberry flowers and much more.  The discounts are absolutely amazing, and this is the time to grab yours before the best things sell out (and they're going quickly).  I used an old Papertrey Ink Mitten Die to cut my mittens from wool felt.  I machine stitched them together.  The red wool felt border was cut using the Scalloped Border Dies from Creative Worship Stamps.
I used a leaf die from Paper Sweeties to cut some green leaves from wool felt, and I hand-stitched those.  The word JOY was cut from the red wool felt using the Peace & Joy Word Dies from Stamp Simply.  I attached more of the hand-stitched leaves to the word as accents of color and texture.  I attached some rusty jingle bells using Solid Red Baker's Twine, Solid Ivory Baker's Twine and Cherry Baker's Twine.  ANYONE who places an order this month at Really Reasonable Ribbon and lets me know will receive a special prize from me personally (minimum value $20).  Promise!!
OK...what else?  I tucked in some Christmas candy sticks and a Starbucks gift card.  This little mitten could easily become a Christmas ornament by simple attaching a piece of Grosgrain Ribbon or Gingham Ribbon to the top left (where the bow is).  Easy!  By using RIBBONS, it's easy to create lots of great projects.  You've seen the darling Christmas Trees and sweet projects on Pinterest and Instagram that are created with trims, right?  Check out ←those links for SUPER CUTE ideas for using Baker's Twine, Ric-Rac or Jute.  Well, now is the time to really STOCK UP on these DISCOUNTED Ribbons, Trims and Twines to help you create ornaments and projects of all kinds.
Thanks for stopping by.  It really would be a blessing to Bonnie as well as to me personally to know that you stopped by Really Reasonable Ribbon to see if there's anything that might catch your eye during this Retirement Sale.  I appreciate you visiting, and of course as always, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this little mitten.  Really Reasonable Ribbon has so many great products still in stock to help you make something extra sweet.  And if you do end up making a purchase this month at Really Reasonable Ribbon, don't forget to let me know so that you can claim your extra BONUS GIFT from me (mentioned above).  Have a creative week and use RIBBONS!

I'm sharing my project here:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says Use Dies in DieCember - I used lots of different die-cuts on this project.  They're all mentioned and linked above.

The Die Cuttin' Diva's Challenges - December: Christmas/Winter Theme using die-cuts.  All the dies I used on my card are mentioned and linked above.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Simon Says Use Dies in DieCember - Again, lots of dies were used on my project and you can find them all linked in my blog post above.

Sweet 16 w/Creative Worship Stamps

I've been having so much FUN using the wonderful NEW products from this month's release at Creative Worship Stamps.  This month's release includes some lovely florals, awesome faith definitions, a super cool stencil, new dies, and so much more.  The card I'm sharing today combines some of the NEW products with some of my older favorites.  This is one of the (many) things that I love about Creative Worship Stamps.
For this card, I started with black cardstock layered with purple cardstock.  The top layer is basic white cardstock that I cut using the fabulous Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I use this sweet set quite a bit.  Isn't that scalloped edge just so cute?  In the center of the white paper, I stamped two of the definitions using the new Faith Definition Stamp Set.  The next step was to stencil on the background with various shades of Tim Holtz Oxide Inks using the pretty Delightfully Delicate Stencil.
There's a lot going on here, so I'll try to cover it all (LOL).  I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies again to cut the smaller rectangle that I stamped with the cool rulers from the Vintage Snippets Stamp Set.  Next, I stamped the 16 with various Tim Holtz Oxide Inks using the awesome NEW Jumbo Textured Numbers Stamp Set.  I placed them on the cut rectangle.  The butterfly and leaf are from the NEW Patient Echinacea Stamp Set.  The word SWEET is found in the Holiday Cheer Stamp Set.
Some of the images (rectangle, leaf, sweet) are raised up using 3-D Foam Tabs from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  RRR is going out of business, and there are lots of great deals taking place.  Be sure to check out that great opportunity.  Thanks so much for visiting me here today, and please take time to stop by my Instagram Page to Follow me there.

I'm sharing my card here:

TIME OUT Challenges - Challenge #302 - The words I used and incorporated into my design are WHITE, NATURE (butterfly) and MOVIE (16 candles).

A Cut Above Challenge Blog - November: Anything Goes w/Die Cuts - I used several Creative Worship dies on my project as listed above.

Wishing You a Very Happy Birthday w/RRR

Whenever I'm on the hunt for the perfect sentiment for my cards, I enjoy looking to Bonnie Garby Designs.  They carry so many great sentiments that you're sure to find the right wording for your next card.  You'll LOVE all the wonderful digital stamps and images you find at Bonnie Garby Designs.  Once those cards start coming together (and even during the process), you'll also find the perfect Adhesives, Ribbons and goodies to adorn those cards with the perfect colors, widths and textures of most every type of spooled trim you can imagine when you shop at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  This Birthday card is a great combination of both of these great companies.
I used basic white cardstock and a basic robin's egg cardstock.  I ran the robin's egg cardstock through the Sizzix using the Tim Holtz Doily Embossing Folder.  The wonderful texture that this particular embossing folder gives is truly lovely.  I used a Crimped Frame Die to cut the sentiment which can be found in the Birthday Greeting 2 Stamp Set from Bonnie Garby Designs.  What a perfect matching.
The pretty floral image is found in the Floral Cluster Spring Pansies Stamp Set.  I painted the image with oxide inks and cut the floral image and the sprigs using the coordinating Floral Cluster & Sprigs Dies.  Everything is attached using Scor-Tape to hold it all securely in place.  The pretty bow I added was tied with Robin's Egg Wrinkle Ribbon and was topped with Black Baker's Twine, some Pink Double Head Stamens and a pretty Ivory Open Rose.
In case you haven't the BIG NEWS yet, Really Reasonable Ribbon is going out of business.  The Owner, and my dear friend; Bonnie, has the most adorable new grandson that she wants to spend her time loving on and spoiling.  Who can blame her for wanting to retire?  She's earned it.  However, there's still a lot of great SHOPPING waiting for you at DISCOUNTED prices.  Time to stock up, right?  May I suggest stocking up on things like AdhesivesBaker's TwineMulberry Flowers and, of course, lots of fabulous RIBBONS.  We're still OPEN and here to help you.  Please stop by again soon.  We love having you visit us.
Be happy, be blessed, be kind and BUY RIBBONS!

Blessings,
Karen

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Don't you just love that song?  I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas.  It took on a whole new meaning for me in 1989 when my husband and I (along with our then 3-year-old daughter) moved from Northern  Minnesota to the deserts of Nevada.  Unless I'm back "home" at my parents' for Christmas, I can literally only dream of having a white Christmas.  This year appears to be turning out that way, and I'm not going to complain.  When I decided to create this card, I knew that Really Reasonable Ribbon would have the perfect trims, and Bonnie Garby Designs would have the perfect sentiment.
I used a black cardstock base, and some older Crate Paper patterned papers to create my colorful background.  The darling sentiment is found in the Christmas Sentiments 2 Stamp Set at Bonnie Garby Designs.  Each layer adds more warmth and charm.  But I couldn't stop there.  Oh, no!  I had to add a pretty bow, of course.
I bundled up some Ivory Burlap String and used a small piece of Scor-Tape to attach the string and a bow tied with Bay Leaf Seam Binding.  I used another small piece of Scor-Tape to top my bow with a Small Pink Open Rose, and then I tucked in two pretty stick pins.  Three little sequins were the finishing touch to this card.   Really Reasonable Ribbon always has the perfect trims for every project.
Oh, wait!  Did I mention that there's a BIG SALE taking place NOW at Really Reasonable Ribbon?  Yes!  You can save using these codes.  The more you buy, the more you save.

Winter Wishes w/Really Reasonable Ribbon

What are your Winter Wishes?  Today I'm sharing a card that I created for Really Reasonable Ribbon that showcases a fabulous NEW stamp set as well as some of MY Winter Wishes.  To be perfectly honest with you, my "Winter Wishes" are much the same as my general year-round wishes.  While I love getting new crafty items, spending time with family, and enjoying the Holidays; my priorities and wishes will always remain centered around my relationship with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I used a cream cardstock base and I layered it with several fun patterned papers from the Bundled Up collection by Crate Paper.  I cut the Winter Wishes tag and added some FABULOUS Baker's Twine at the top including Solid Red Baker's Twine, Solid Teal Bakers Twine and Solid Ivory Baker's Twine.  Those of you who know me best are aware that I LOVE Baker's Twine for it's multi-purpose usefulness and the fact that it comes in many beautiful colors and costs just ten cents ($0.10) per yard.
On the Crate Paper tag, I stamped some of my "Winter Wishes" using a FUN NEW stamp set from Creative Worship called Wordfetti.  I stamped the various words/phrases in different colors of ink.  I used lots of Scor-Tape Adhesive to secure all my papers securely in place.  This is an awesome Adhesive, and it comes it various widths to accommodate various projects.  I also added a length of 1/2" Robin's Egg Wrinkle Ribbon to my card, and I topped that with another length of Solid Red Baker's Twine and a sweet 2-Tone Light Turquoise Open Rose.
Thanks so much for visiting me today.  It's always a treat to have you stop by and say hello.  I appreciate your comments, questions, and of course, your support of Really Reasonable Ribbon - the best ribbon shop out there (in my humble opinion).  Happy crafting, everyone!

Blessings,
Karen

Be Grateful, Be Happy & Be Blessed

At Really Reasonable Ribbon, you'll always find all the perfect ribbons, trims, twines and laces for sure.  But did you know that Really Reasonable Ribbon also carries useful crafting essentials such as Adhesives, 3-D Foam Tabs, Mulberry Flowers, Embellishments and much more.  If you haven't done so lately, please take a minute or two and stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon to look around.  You just might want to treat yourself.  PLEASE NOTE:  I have a dear Aunt, Greta, who is about to turn 92.  If anyone would like to send her a Birthday card, please let me know and I'll give you the address.  It would be greatly appreciated.
Today I'm sharing a fun glassine bag project.  I decorated the glassine bag using patterned papers, stickers and ephemera from Carta Bella's sweet Spring Market line.  I used lots of Scor-Tape Adhesive to hold everything securely in place.  Before all the papers were in place, I used the Typewriter Text Background Stamp to create the fun background you see.
Underneath the watering can sticker (on glassine bag) as well as at the top left of my card, you'll see some bundled Ivory Burlap String and Black Burlap String.  This is another fabulous trim that comes in oodles of different colors and costs just ten cents per yard.  FAB!  On top of the Ivory Burlap String and Black Burlap String on my card, I added three Open Roses.
I also made a matching bookmark for my card.  I used the same Carta Bella goodies including the stickers, chipboard sentiment, etc.  Again, lots of fabulous Scor-Tape holds everything together.  I also did some machine stitching on my card.  The sweet sentiment is from Bonnie Garby Designs and is one of so many great digital sets available in her sweet Etsy Shop.  The "Be" die-cut is from Simon Says Stamp, and the words "happy" and "be blessed" as well as the & die-cut are from Creative Worship.
I used more of the fabulous Solid Baker's Twines on the top of my tag.  Baker's Twine is the perfect trim for adding a matching bookmark.  It comes in both stripes and solids and also comes in so many fabulous colors.  I'm pretty sure I covered everything you see here. but feel free to ask if you have any questions.  Thanks so much for visiting and be sure to catch all the inspiration and up-to-date information on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog

I'm sharing this fun glassine bag, card and bookmark here:

The Night Before Christmas w/RRR

Ribbons are always a fabulous touch.  Ribbons, Twines and Trims can be used for SO many different crafting purposes.  And in my humble opinion, Really Reasonable Ribbon is truly the BEST place to find the variety of colors, widths, designs, styles and types of trims for all your crafting needs.  It's not often that I don't include some type of trim on my cards.  However......did you know that Really Reasonable Ribbon also carries essential items like Adhesives and 3-D Foam Tabs?  They really have a vast variety of crafting products.
I used basic cream cardstock for the base of my card.  I layered that with patterned papers from my stash including some old October Afternoon papers, stickers and an ephemera card.  I tied some rather long lengths of Baker's Twine around my card and tied a bow with it.  Really Reasonable Ribbon carries both Solid and Striped Baker's Twines.  On this card, I used Cherry Baker's Twine and Solid Mint Baker's Twine to match my papers.
I used lots of fabulous Scor-Tape Adhesive to attach everything and hold it securely in place.  I used a cute die-cut from Paper Sweeties to cut my "Christmas cookie for Santa".  I cut it out of cardboard, and it's layered with 3-D Foam Tabs, and then the center is filled with red glitter to represent jelly or frosting in the center of the cookie.  The tiny iced coffee image is also very old, and it's from V's Sweet Ideas.
You can find lots of great inspiration on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog, and that's where you'll also stay up-to-date about special sales and promotions taking place in the RRR Store.  You'll always find the best selection of Ribbons, Trims, Twines, Adhesives, Embellishments, Mulberry Flowers and much more at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  There's also still time to SAVE during the Labor Day SALE.  Details are on the Blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek and say hello.  I'm always grateful.

Merry Christmas w/Really Reasonable Ribbon

It's never a wrong time to make and share a Christmas card.  In fact, I started in July during the BYSHC Linky Party and I've continued doing so this month.  When the craziness of December comes rolling along, I'll be ahead of the game as far as my Christmas cards are concerned.  Now, for the Christmas shopping.  Oh, my!!  That's another story altogether.
This card started with cream cardstock and some Crate Paper patterned papers from the Peppermint line.  The cream base was stamped using the adorable Christmas Text Background Stamp Set.  It's truly a shame that you can't see more of this adorable stamp.  I covered it a bit with the sweet Merry Christmas sentiment from Bonnie Garby Designs; and can be found in the Merry Christmas Sentiment Digital Stamp Set.
At the middle of my card, I attached a cute little kraft/polka dot envelope.  I wrapped some of the pretty Peppermint Baker's Twine around my card and tied a bow with it.  I also added a glitter-dusted red jingle bell that's tied with Cherry Baker's Twine.  I also tucked in little paper scraps here and there on my card to add touches of color and because, well honestly, I just love layers of paper.
In the next photo (below), you'll see what happens when I open up that cute little kraft envelope.  I tucked in a second sentiment from Bonnie Garby Designs.  This one can be found in the Christmas Song Lyrics Digital Stamp Set.  These sentiments are SO sweet and SO affordable.  At the top right of the little sentiment, I attached a bit of 1/4" Chevron Red Striped Twill Ribbon using a Tim Holtz miniature paper clip.  It tucks right in that little envelope for an added surprise.
There are SO many fun ribbons, trims and twines waiting for you at Really Reasonable Ribbon.  It's amazing how much FUN and texture you can add to your cards and projects with a simple trim.  Be sure to stop by Really Reasonable Ribbon to check out all their fabulous products, and by the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog for lots of great inspiration.  Thanks so much for stopping by today, friends.

Blessings,
Karen
