Nature/Recycle at The Kraft Journal

This week at The Kraft Journal, our challenge is your choice between Nature and/or Recycling.  I obviously didn't incorporate nature into my project, but I did help protect nature by making my project by using a recycled item.
As we celebrate "Earth Day" this week, I really wanted to focus on the idea of RECYCLING.  The Kraft Outlet sells lots of great Tim Holtz products, and many of them come in plastic containers that are perfect for recycling.  I used the packaging from one of these Tim Holtz products for my project.  I took off the cardboard backing and traced it onto a piece of Light Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock.  That slides right behind the plastic packaging.  I filled the empty plastic space (where the product once was) with Tic-Tacs.  Next, I added a few simple embellishments to the packaging just to "dress it up a bit".   I used a Tim Holtz Journaling Ticket, and created some "flags" by cutting strips of Vintage Sheet Music and covering them with Red With White Polka Dot Washi Tape.  I also tied a couple lengths of Natural Hemp Cord at the top.  It's a lot of fun recycling these little Tim Holtz packages.

I hope you'll stop by to play along with us in this week's challenge.  You can either recycle something to use on your project, or create something having to do with nature.  Either is fun, and both sound like great fun!  You could even be the lucky winner of the monthly prize of a $15 gift certificate to the Kraft Outlet.

Happy crafting,
Karen
