Hello, friends! Today I stopped by the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge Blog to check out their new inspiration photo, and I just fell in love with this sweet color combination. I knew right away that I wanted to create something so that I could play along. I grabbed a couple of patterned papers in the required colors (white card stock, teal and orange) and got to work. I ran the teal paper through my Big Shot with the Swiss Dots embossing folder, and layered everything together. I used my PTI What The Doodle Feather Stamp Set for the feathers and sentiment, added some Ivory Burlap String, pearls, Mulberry Flowers, Seam Binding in white and teal, and added some Blue Raspberry Sequins and Orange Creamsicle Sequins as accents. I also hand-stitched a couple of X's with DMC floss.
It's always fun having an inspiration photo to get you started. I was thrown off a bit at first by the footballs in the photo; but then I reminded myself that an inspiration photo can never be taken literally. It's just a starting point to get your creativity flowing. I hope that you will check out this fun challenge. There's also a fabulous inspiration photo challenge over on the Paper Sweeties Blog that you will enjoy!
Here are the challenges where I will be entering my card. Wish me luck, friends. I haven't won anything in a very long time. Perhaps this will be my lucky week (but I'm not holding my breath...LOL). It's still a whole lot of fun trying, and that's good enough for me. Happy crafting!
