Hey there, crafty friends! Welcome by. I have a question for you all. What do you do with all the little paper scraps left over from making cards and projects? Well, here's a fun idea for using up some of those little "throw-away" remnants. There's always something that can be done with all those various sized pieces of patterned paper.....you can give this one a try.
I gathered up some patterned paper scraps that were in the same "color family" so to speak, and I inked the edges of each one with a coordinating oxide ink. Once I had all those little scraps ready, I placed them onto a piece of plain old ordinary white cardstock. This created a really fun, colorful background.

I stamped the larger coffee cup and the journalling card with sentiment and smaller coffee cup using a Joy Clair stamp set called Coffee Lovers. The journalling card is tucked in between all those patterned paper scraps. I like the patchwork feel to this fun card, and I saved a bunch of cute scraps that might have otherwise been discarded. I encourage you to save and use these fun little bits and pieces.
I'm sharing my card in the following challenges, and I hope you'll play along as well:
Mod Squad Challenge Blog: Coffee or Tea - This is such a fun theme, and I adore Pink & Main. I love playing along at Mod Squad. (Entry #2)
Simon Says Stamp: Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
Pixie's Crafty Workshop: Snippets Playground Challenge #353 - I was invited by Bunny to play along in this fun challenge using up my scraps (as explained above).

Girl.........you are the master of using the scraps and making it look like this was a kit and it all fits well. Mine would not have come out to look so good. Yours are always beautiful. Great job of using those up. You need to enter this into the Snippets Playground. http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteYour card is so cute with all of those fun colorful scraps! I tend to put my scraps in bags - I have them according to holidays, male, female, birthday, wedding, etc - So when I'm making a card I just grab the bag that is for that particular project and go with it... :)

ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE how you used your scraps on this card. Your layering is FABULOUS!!
ReplyDeleteGreat card Karen - I love how you used up a load of snippets. And a huge welcome to the Snippets Playground as well. To be in the prize draw do remember to add a link to the Playground in this post (it was only when I spotted Bunny's comment that I realised how you found us). Also, if you're playing for the prize then I always ask for a yes please comment on the challenge itself over on my blog. Some folk just play for fun and I've been caught out in the past and had to run the draw again. Do please come back soon - you can play once per challenge - they run for two weeks.
