SEW Blessed

Yes, I am SO very blessed.  When I sort through my craft room, I always find an abundance of supplies.  And try as I might to clear things out, I still have far more than I can ever use.  But then again, every now and then I'll pull something out from the deepest drawer of my oldest stash....and soon I've come up with something creative and fun.  That's what happened to me here today.  I found an old piece of chipboard or cardboard, I guess.....and I painted it with a black chalkboard paint, and then a layer of crackle medium, and then a layer of a creamy chalk paint.  That dried with a nice CRACKLE, which is what I wanted (as inspired by the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge).
I used Mod Podge to add some vintage dress patterns to my crackle painted background, and also added an inked wooden ruler, some flowers, stamens, rusty paper clip, rusty pin, bundled burlap string, some vintage buttons, lace, and strips of inked patterned paper flags.  The chunky glitter letters (SEW) are from Prima, and the sentiment (Blessed) is a Paper Sweeties stamp that I stamped onto scraps of vintage dress pattern that I adhered to the background with Mod Podge.  The finishing touches were the antique button card, staples and other rustic embellishments.
I'm so grateful that you stopped by again.  I'm going to spend my afternoon with a bottomless vanilla latte, and visit lots of blogs so don't be surprised to see me (commenting) when I stop by your blog to see what you've been creating.  I hope it's  been great FUN in your craft room, too.  If there's anything you have a question about, just let me know.  I think I covered it all, but....as usual, I've overloaded again.  LOL
Blessings,
Karen

Oh, these are the FUN challenges where I'm linking up my Sew Blessed project:

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Simon Says "Crack It Up" - As explained above, I painted my cardboard base with Black Chalkboard Paint, and a layer of Crackle Medium, and a layer of creamy chalk paint.  It CRACKLED as it dried (because of the medium I used).  I also used a crackled chunky glitter on the Prima letters (sew).

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Two Or More Patterned Papers" - I used three of four patterned papers from a Bo Bunny line called Miss Betty.  There's a ruler paper that I used twice, a blue polka dot (that's covered by the flowers), and a sweet woodgrain patterned paper that you can see peeking out there.  I worked in those patterned papers.

  1. This is really pretty. Oh how I miss quilting. At least the shoulder allows me to make cards. So, I am blessed! [Bunny]

  3. This is such a fantastic project Karen! I love the wonderful crackles in the background and all the sewing-themed items. Those buttons are such a treasure and the flowers, rulers and everything else are just wonderful. I too love to find really old things in my stash and suddenly be inspired to make something with them.

Thank you so much for your kind comments on my blog and on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog. And thank you for joining us at the Monday challenge! / Anna-Karin
