Santa's Hat Glassine Bag/Gift Card Holder

Hello, sweet blog friends and crafters!  Welcome by my little bitty slice of blogland where I share my creativity and (sometimes crazy) mind.  Well, my creativity is sometimes crazy as well, so....it's all good.  When I saw the new challenge over at Dar & Diane's Challenge Blog, I knew I wanted to play along.  I searched, but was pretty sure I didn't own a Santa's hat die-cut.  So....I just started looking to see what I DID have on hat.  When I found this sweet Santa's hat piece of chipboard from Prima Marketing, I knew I wanted to use it.  It's from such a beautiful soft pink and mint line.  I wanted to stay with that color scheme.
I used some Crate Paper Snow & Cocoa patterned papers and a few other Crate Paper snippets that were  laying on my craft table.  The little pink journal tab is from October Afternoon.  I had someone place an order for gift card holders for her friends, etc. for Christmas.  These little glassine bags (shown above in case you aren't familiar with the term "glassine bag"...it's like a tissue bag) from Hobby Lobby (and lots of other places) was folded over and covered with these patterned papers.
I adorned the cover page with some rusty jingle bells, ivory burlap string, Cotton Candy baker's twine, floral stamens, and pink floral prills.  I thought it had sort of a vintage pink Christmas vibe.  I know a lot of people are decorating in pink (even their trees, etc.) so I do like working with the non-traditional Christmas colors sometimes.  I tried to tie in just enough red to keep it "Christmas" looking.

Thanks again for visiting me today.  I always enjoy your visits and input.  I hope you're having a great week and weekend to come.  God bless you all.

Karen

I'm playing along in these FUN challenges:
Dar & Diane's Double D Challenge Blog - Santa's Hat - I had SO  much fun with this theme.  Since I don't own a Santa's hat die-cut, I had to work with what I had on hand.  When I found this sweet chipboard hat in my stash, I knew I had to use it.  I used a completely different color scheme, however.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Fun With Dies" - The only die-cut I used on this sweet little project is the scalloped pink polka dot border on the right-hand side of the cover page.  That was cut using a Sweet -n Sassy Scalloped Border Die.
