The Month of May is here already, and it's time for a fun new challenge over at The Four Seasons Challenge Blog. We sure hope that you'll be inspired by this photo, and that you'll stop by to share all your Spring creations with us this month. My card was inspired primarily by the photo in the upper right-hand corner of this inspirational collage. I love these soft muted colors, and I also knew that I wanted to create a Mother's Day card so here's what I came up with for this challenge. I used white cardstock and added some sweet Maggie Holmes Crate Paper patterned papers, stickers and ephemera. There's a lot going on and, other than the stamped floral image, everything you see is from another of my Crate Paper stashes.
The flowers were stamped using the Pretty Poppies Stamp Set and coordinating Pretty Poppies Dies from Stamp Simply. I colored them with my Copics, and I would have colored them completely differently if I'd selected my papers before I got started. That's what you call "putting the horse before the cart". Anyway...I attached the florals to this busy little background and I also did a bit of machine stitching. The scalloped border I used is from Sween 'n Sassy Stamps.
