It's time for another fun challenge over at Word Art Wednesday. I sure hope you'll come join the fun and enter ALL your art over the next two weeks for your chance to WIN an amazing $25 credit to Stamp Simply Clear Stamps. Because they are our sponsor for this challenge, and quite honestly because I still do not have a printer and cannot print the WAW scriptures, I'm sharing this Patriotic card with you today to celebrate a true HERO in my life. Oh and by the way, don't forget to check out ALL the fabulous New Release products at Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.
We all know of someone who has served our beautiful country in the military. Some of us know several of these American heroes. For me, there are many; but my #1 American hero is my Dad, a Retired Colonel from the United States Air Force. Growing up as an "Air Force Brat" was interesting. It was always super cool walking around base with Dad and watching (for the most part) EVERYONE have to salute him. And at the age of 90, he's still teaching Civil Air Patrol and he's still flying.Stamp Simply Clear Stamps has so many great stamps and dies to help you create Patriotic cards to celebrate these American heroes. This card uses black and red cardstock layered with white cardstock that I pressure embossed using the Tim Holtz Tree Rings Embossing Folder. I "made" my own star stencil by cutting the holes with the stars found in the Old Glory Dies.I used the Old Glory Stamp Set for the United States image, and I cut it using the coordinating Old Glory Dies. The sentiment is found in the Red, White & Blue Stamp Set. It was stamped onto white cardstock that was also pressure embossed and cut with the Fishtail Banner Dies. I added ribbons including 1.5" Blue Gingham Ribbon and some Red Chevron Twill. The patterned papers I used are found in the Echo Park Freedom Ring 6x6 Paper Pad. There are SO many great Patriotic products available at Stamp Simply. Be sure to POP on over to Word Art Wednesday to link up your art with us for your chance to WIN. Once again, thanks so much for your visit here today and have a wonderful week, my blogging friends.
I'll be sharing my card in the following challenges:
Can You Handle the Pressure - May Challenge - Anything Goes (with pressure embossing) with Optional Flowers Twist. I didn't use the twist (obviously..lol), but I did use a Tim Holtz Wood Rings embossing folder.
Blessings,
Karen
