Join the FUN at The Card Concept

Are you ready for another FUN challenge?  Well, we've got a great one waiting for you over at The Card Concept and we really hope that you'll come play along this month.  There's a beautiful inspiration photo to give your creativity a kick-start along with several inspiring cards from our Design Team.  Just head on over to The Card Concept Challenge to check it out and join the excitement.
I used two different cardstocks (black and blue) layered with some JilliBean Soup patterned papers.  I did a bit of machine straight stitching on the outer edges.  Next, I stamped the patriotic sentiment using the Red, White & Blue Stamp Set from Stamp Simply.
Stamp Simply carries lots of great Patriotic Stamp Sets as well as covering pretty much every topic you can imagine.  This particular stamp is really because it has so many great sentiments and makes a fabulous background.  Whatever speaks to you in the inspiration photo will be a perfect starting point.  Just let your creativity run wild and come share your art with us.
Be sure to head on over to The Card Concept to see all the fabulous inspiration from the Design Team, and to play along with us.  We always enjoy seeing your wonderful art shared in our challenges and hope that you have FUN creating.  Have a great week.
You don't necessarily have to share a patriotic card.  Whatever this photo does to inspire you, we'd love to hear about it.  Please come share your art with us this month at The Card Concept.  Happy crafting.

I'm playing along in the following:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Use Patterned Papers" - I used several gingham and polka dot patterned papers on this fun patriotic card.

Double D Challenge Blog - Theme: Polka Dots - I used some blue/white polka dot patterned paper as well as a red polka dot firecracker.  Just look at all these FUN polka dots.
Create something exciting for yourself and come play along in these FUN challenges.

Blessings,
Karen

More Coffee, Please

I don't know about you, but I can never get enough coffee.  Whether it's a fancy latte the way I like it, a plain cup of black coffee, or a shot of espresso, I love it ALL.  This card combines several different elements from various craft companies I love.  And...it's all about the COFFEE.
I used black cardstock, a Carta Bella patterned paper purchased from Stamp Simply, a piece of corrugated cardboard, and white watercolor paper.  I inked up the white paper with Corduroy Oxide Ink and then stamped the messy background using a set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.
The ribbon is May Arts from Really Reasonable Ribbon, the sentiment is from Paper Sweeties, and the Doodlebug Doodle Pop Stickers were purchased from Paper Sweeties.  That's about it....really simple.  But it sure is making me crave another cup of coffee.  LOL

I'm sharing my coffee card here:
Fall/Winter Coffee Loving Cardmakers' Blog Hop - Anything Goes Coffee Related Fall/Winter

Double D Challenge Blog - Thankful, Grateful, Blessed - I am SO thankful, grateful and blessed by every good thing God has given me.  And YES, that includes my COFFEE.  I was inspired on this one by the coffee cup (bottom right corner of inspiration photo) for its colors, things inside the cup, and the warmth it brings.

Happy crafting,
Karen

Paper Sweeties New Release Rewind

Welcome back by my blog today, everyone.  It's always a blessing to me when you visit and possibly even leave me a comment.  It makes me SO happy...you just don't even know.  Today my Paper Sweeties teammates and I are winding up the New Release that just became available for purchase yesterday.  The new Summer Vibes Stamp Set has so many great sentiments for Summer and far beyond.  The card I'm sharing today is the easiest card to make.  In fact, anyone can create this card.  I promise this, and I'll explain myself.
To create your card base, you will simply use some blue cardstocks that you'll cut into the size card you desire to create.  I literally used some scraps of blue cardstocks that I found in my cardstock bin.  I ran a length of Seam Binding across my card and tied a pretty bow with it.  I used a piece of basic white cardstock (again, I used a scrap laying on my craft table) and I used a sponge to rub on a bit of (Stormy Blue and Brick Red) Tim Holtz Oxide Inks.  I splatter the wet ink with a bit of water.  You know...like "flick it".  Let it dry.  Stamp the sentiment (God Bless America) using the new Summer Vibes Stamp Set.
The last thing I did to create this card is to place the adorable little Doodlebug Doodle Pop Stickers here and there.  How adorable are they?  There are lots of cute Doodlebug Stickers at Paper Sweeties that work well with the new Summer Vibes Stamp Set.  They sure do make it quick and easy to whip up a cute card.  AND....they're only about $2 per set.  ADORBS.  Here are the links to my teammates' inspirational posts for today.

Thanks again for visiting me.
