Life Is Delicious w/Brutus Monroe

Well, believe it or not, this is my last post for Brutus Monroe.  I've been on their Inspiration Box Design Team for the past six months; and this is the end.  I trust that God has great new things ahead for me, so I'm not sad about stepping down from this team.  But in the meantime.....just look at this CUTE card that I made using the new Sugar & Spice Inspiration Box.  I also used a brand new Brutus Monroe Embossing Powder on the background.
Each Inspiration Box contains several sheets of various colored cardstocks, so I used the black cardstock for my base.  My second layer was a piece of white cardstock that I stamped and embossed with a brand new golden Embossing Powder from Brutus Monroe.  It has a cool shimmer to it, so I'm trying to get you a photo at an angle where you see the glimmer it gives your card.  Kinda like a like glitter dusting, only it's inside the embossing powder.  Really cool!
So after I embossed the background, I rubbed various yellow/gold Tim Holtz Oxide Inks onto the background to create an ombre effect.  Since I had this cool golden background, I stamped the cake three times, colored it in yellow/gold Copic colors, added some glitter to the frosting, and used the coordinating die-cuts to cut the cakes.  I placed some on 3-D Foam Tape to raise them, and adhered them to the card.  I used a sentiment strip to create the cute sentiment "Life Is Delicious" at the top.
The little hearts and dots are also found in the Sugar & Spice Stamp and Die Set included in this Inspiration Box.  The cute small accent stamps are super fun to fill in bare spaces as I did here.  I also added a red bow using the silky ribbon found in the Inspiration Box, as well as a few sequins.  I don't think there's any possible way you could go wrong with this DARLING Inspiration Box.  Everything I've created is super cute just because these stamps, dies and goodies are SO super cute.

Thanks again for stopping by to take a peek at my final card for Brutus Monroe.  If you ever lose your mojo, just remember the Inspiration Box from Brutus Monroe.  It's a sure way to spark your creativity.  Happy crafting, everyone!

Blessings,
karen

What's Cooking? w/Brutus Monroe

I always love and appreciate when someone shares a good recipe.  In fact, if you have a family favorite; please send it my way.  It's always FUN trying a new recipe.  Right?  Well, the new Sugar & Spice Inspiration Box from Brutus Monroe will help you create some adorable recipe cards so that you can share your favorite recipes with friends.  Next time you're sending someone a card, why not tuck in a recipe?  The adorable new Sugar & Spice Stamp Set will help you decorate your recipe cards so sweetly.  I decided to use plain old ordinary white recipe cards.  The reason why I made this decision is because I figure that if I used some of my specialty recipe cards (Bo Bunny, specialty from Etsy, etc.) you might not be able to find them, and that wouldn't be fair.  Right?  So, I used the very ordinary white recipe cards for this easy project.  It's also a very inexpensive "gift" to tuck inside a card.
All the images in the Sugar & Spice Stamp Set are so cute.  They're all kitchen or food themed, obviously.  There aren't a lot of great sentiments (in my opinion) in this set; but.....there are oodles of sentiments strips included in the Sugar & Spice Inspiration Box.  In fact, each Inspiration Box contains sentiments strips, and they expand your sentiment choices exponentially.  I actually shared a card last week where I used one sentiment strip, and cut and pieced words from others.  Like I said, you can make a vast variety of sentiments using the goodies in each Inspiration Box.
Each recipe card has a bit of Tim Holtz Oxide Ink rubbed on it somewhere.  I also placed at least one image (more) on each recipe card.  Some are stamped directly onto the recipe card and others were stamped and cut with the coordinating dies and then taped securely to the recipe cards.  I love not only the darling bigger images in this Sugar & Spice Stamp Set; but also the darling little stamps included such as the hearts and dots, flowers, sprig, etc.).  These smaller accent stamps are great for creating backgrounds or for using as accents as I did here.
The one recipe card uses the vintage scale, rolling pin, and apple images.  The second recipe card I put together showcases the DELICIOUS cake on stand as well as the hearts and dots, and the third card showcases the sack.  The front is actually blank and there are several choices as to what you can place in the little sentiment box.  I used the "Sugar" sentiment stamp.  I had contemplated using the cute sprig, and now I wish I had.  It would have given it a softness it's missing.  Oh well, next time I suppose.
There's really not anything else here to mention (that I can think of), but if you should happen to have any questions, I don't mind at all.  Brutus Monroe has LOTS of great stamps, dies, inks, stencils, and pretty much anything you can think of using.  I was part of the Inspiration Box Design Team for Brutus Monroe, so I've been working strictly (90%) with the Inspiration Boxes.  Next Wednesday will be my last post for Brutus Monroe as my GDT term will be over.  I can honestly say that they really do have great products and wonderful Customer Service.  They're good group of peeps and a great company.  Thanks for stopping by everyone.  Have a wonderfully creative week and please stop by again soon.  I always appreciate your visits and comments.

Blessings,
karen

The Secret Ingredient is LOVE

It's time for another fun Brutus Monroe blog post; and today I'm sharing a really sweet card I created using the new Inspiration Box.  This  month's box is SO sweet.  It's filled with the "usual items" such as cardstocks, ribbons, sequins, patterned papers, sentiment strips, and the most ADORABLE stamps and dies you can imagine.  I've been having SO much fun with this Inspiration Box.  Here's what I made to share with you today.
I started with black cardstock, and then I added the pretty pastel pink cardstock from the Inspiration Box and I inked it a bit.  I used several colors of Tim Holtz Oxide Inks on my card.  I machine stitched in red along the edges of the pink cardstock.  The sentiments (The secret ingredients is Love, Love, Love) are found on the sentiment strips in the Inspiration Box.
ALL the adorable images you see on my card (the apron, the fork, spoon, cake, eggs, rolling pin and hearts can be found in the Stamp Set included in the Inspiration Box.  The coordinating die-cuts are also included, and I used them to cut all the images I placed on my card.  I stamped an extra pocket, colored it, and raised it up with 3-D Foam Tape so that I could "tuck in" the fork and spoon.
Purchasing an Inspiration Box is like getting your "mojo" in a box.  As soon as you open up a new Inspiration Box, the creativity and ideas start flowing quickly through your mind.  There's just SO much creative potential waiting for you in every Inspiration Box.  I hope you'll stop by Brutus Monroe to check out ALL their wonderful products.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week!

What's Cookin' With Brutus Monroe

Hello, creative friends!  I've got a real treat for you today as I share another cute card I created for Brutus Monroe using their ADORABLE new Sugar & Spice Inspiration Box.  I am so in love with this stamp and die set that I can't leave them alone.  CUTENESS overload.  This is my favorite stamp set so far from an Inspiration Box.  I mean, I've enjoyed them all; and they're all cute, but this set is just SO me.  I'm having loads of fun creation with this Sugar & Spice Inspiration Box.
Come on, right?!?  How CUTE is this?  I started with black cardstock and then white cardstock.  I stamped my red plaid and turquoise/teal circles to create the background.  Then, I added a small white kitchen doily.  I stamped the apron, cup of coffee and rolling pin and I colored them with my Copics.  I used the coordinating Sugar & Spice Die Cuts (also in this Inspiration Box) to die-cut the images and then I placed them carefully onto my card.
I stamped the sentiment and heart using the Sugar & Spice Stamp Set, and I free cut the sentiment piece.  This Sugar & Spice Stamp Set is going to be super handy for creating gift tags, recipe cards, and when giving food gifts.  It will just make the most darling little cards, tags and projects.  Every Inspiration Box is filled with products to help you create lots of great cards and projects.  It's a box of creativity and FUN just waiting for YOU to open it.  Why not treat yourself to an Inspiration Box from Brutus Monroe today?  And Again.....Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at what I've been "cooking up" here on my blog.  I always appreciate you stopping by to say hello and take a peek.

Getting Kitchy With Brutus Monroe

Let me just say.....I'm absolutely LOVING the new Inspiration Box from Brutus Monroe.  It has some of the cutest kitchen images I've ever seen.  I love the rolling pin, the mixer, the scale, the bowls, and   .  Not to mention that, as always, this Inspiration Box contains cardstocks, glimmer paper, foiling and sentiment sheets, ribbons, sequins, the stamps, die-cuts and more.  It's a box full of creativity just waiting for you to "cook up" something super cute.
I started this card with the black cardstock and added some Bo Bunny patterned papers and stickers.  I used Tim Holtz Oxide Ink to blend my misty green background.  I topped that with a journalling card and some more stickers from the Bo Bunny line.  The adorable scale and flower cluster at the bottom of the card are stamped images from the Stamp Set included in this Inspiration Box.  I used the coordinating die-cuts to cut the flowers and scale.
I placed some of the pretty Sequin Mix on this card.  You may also notice a tag sticking out from behind my card.  I placed a hidden glassing envelope behind the patterned paper so that I could tuck in a cute tag (and perhaps a gift card, a favorite recipe, a note, photo, etc.) and I used the Stamp Set to also decorate this tag.  It's tied with Solid Black Baker's Twine.  Y'all know me...I love to layer papers so there's a lot going on here between all the patterned papers, stickers, stamped images and everything else.  What a DARLING stamp set.  I know I'll be using this one quite a bit.  It's SO perfect for making your own recipe cards and gifts.  Imagine a cute stamped tag on some homemade jam or soup.  There are endless great ideas for using this extra sweet Inspiration Box.
Thanks for stopping by today.  I say it all the time, but it's so true.....I always appreciate your visits and comments more than you could possibly know.  Please don't ever hesitate if you have any questions about any of the things I've used.  If you're not already "Following Me", please do so now and I will return the favor.  Just let me know.  I appreciate you all SO much.

Blessings,
karen

I Believe In You w/Brutus Monroe

Have you check out the Inspiration Boxes yet from Brutus Monroe?  If you're a crafter who sometimes needs a little bit of "motivation and inspiration in a box", then the Inspiration Box is a great choice for you. Each Inspiration Box has a theme, and contains stamps, dies, papers, sequins and ribbons (among other things) to coordinate nicely with the theme of the box.  During the Month of November, the Inspiration Box is called Four Legged Friends, and it's filled with FUN.
I used some of the awesome cardstock from the Four Legged Friends Inspiration Box to create my card base, and I added some patterned paper to my design.  How CUTE is that little wind-up mouse image?  I used Hickory Smoke Tim Holtz Oxide Ink to stamp it on the background.  Next, I rubbed Spun Sugar Oxide Ink on the background and covered it with a spot of patterned paper.
The images in the Four Legged Friends Stamp Set are adorable.  To be perfectly honest, I am NOT a cat lover.  And yet, I adore these sweet images.  I have lots of cat-loving friends/family members and four-legged friends in general.   We all do.  That's why the Four Legged Friends Inspiration Box is such a fun one to own.  Who wouldn't love to get a pick-me-up like this in the mail?  Brutus Monroe can help YOU get creative.
All the images in this set are SO cute.  I used a small Maya Road fabric tag to give some extra dimension.  On top of that, I placed a sweet cream bow using the beautiful ribbon assortment found in the Inspiration Box.  I also stamped and die-cut the cute yarn balls and wind-up mouse that I added.  The sentiment is from the Unique Unicorn Inspiration Box stamp set.  Let me know if you have any other questions, and I'll hope to see you here again soon.

Blessings,
Karen

Brutus Monroe November Inspiration Box

Do you have a four-legged friend?  A dog or cat?  Well, as so many of us have and love our four-legged friends - I think it's about high time we celebrate them.  The new Four-Legged Friends Inspiration Box from Brutus Monroe is FILLED with stamps, dies, sequins, ribbons, foiling sheets, cardstocks and more that will help us celebrate our furry friends.  I'm not a cat lover (just being honest), and yet, I do enjoy making "cat cards" for my friends who do love cats.  This new stamp set is the perfect combination of both dogs and cats.
For this card, I started with some of the lovely cardstocks found in the Four-Legged Friends Inspiration Box and used them to create my card base.  I used one of the foiling sheets from the Inspiration Box as sort of a patterned paper.  Then, I used a piece of watercolor paper to ink and stamp a quick background using some Tim Holtz Oxide Inks.
I used the Stamp Set found in the Four-Legged Friends Inspiration Box to stamp all the images and the sentiment.  These cute images make it so easy to create a cute card, and we all have friends who LOVE their four-legged friends.  I know how much joy our sweet Belle (Miniature Schnauzer) brings to our lives, and I'm guessing you know someone who feels the same way.  This is a great Inspiration Box to create cards for all your pet loving friends.
As I mentioned, there are multiple cats and multiple dogs (images) in this sweet new Stamp Set.  So, I used one cat image on the card and I used another image on the envelope.  As I envision it, this stressed out cat (on the card) has actually fallen over as seen on the envelope.  It tells a little story, and then reminds its recipient to STAY Paws-itive.  How cute is that?
I'll be back again next Wednesday with another card created using the new Four-Legged Friends Inspiration Box from Brutus Monroe.  You can find lots of great products at Brutus Monroe.  You'd be surprised to see ALL that they carry.  Thanks for visiting me, and please stop by again soon.

Blessings,
Karen

We Mermaid To Be Friends

Welcome back by my blog, everyone!  I hope you've been having LOTS of fun creative time lately.  I know how busy things can get during the Summer months; and my friends at Brutus Monroe are always sharing lots of great inspiration to help you stay creative.  In fact, this card I'm sharing with you today is also being featured over on the Brutus Monroe Blog where you'll find inspirational cards and projects every day.  I'm honored to have my card shared there as well as here on my own blog, and I thank you for stopping by to take a peek.
This card was created using the super FUN Mermaid Kisses Inspiration Box.  I've been having SO much fun making cards using this wonderful box of goodies.  The Mermaid Kisses Inspiration Box includes a darling full-sized stamp set and coordinating die-cuts as well as papers, cards, ribbons, sequins and goodies galore.  I created  my background using some Tim Holtz Oxide Inks to create the water for my fish.
I stamped several of the adorable fish in this stamp set.  I just LOVE how this stamp set allows you to create the most awesome underwater scenes.  The fish have the cutest details and facial expressions.  They're just SO fun and lend to endless creative possibilities.  I stamped the sentiment directly onto the background; but for the fish and bubbles, I used the coordinating die-cuts and raised them with some 3-D Foam Tape to give them some dimension as they swim through the ocean.  I also attached some of the awesome clear pebbles included in the Inspiration Box to represent bubbles.
For more inspiration, you're welcome to stop by the Brutus Monroe Facebook Page or the Brutus Monroe Blog.  And of course, there's always lots of great shopping in the Brutus Monroe store.  You can find the Inspiration Boxes, stamps, inks, and well.....pretty much anything and everything you can imagine.  We'd love to have you visit.  Have a great week, and stay creative.

Blessings,
Karen

Mermaid Hair w/Brutus Monroe

Well, it's Wednesday again, and that means I'm posting for Brutus Monroe.  The card I'm sharing today was created using the Mermaid Kisses Inspiration Box.  What a darling box this is, and oh what fun I've had creating cards with the darling stamps, dies and goodies in this underwater wonderland of fun.
I used some of the cardstocks found in the Mermaid Kisses Inspiration Box as well as one of the foiling sheets which I used as a background of underwater fun.  It turned out very colorful and very busy, but let's face it....that's what happens underwater where the mermaids live.  Right?
There are two mermaid images in the stamp set/die set.  In this image, she's swimming through the water.  I love the sponges and corals in the stamp set.  I used some 3-D foam tape to raise up the images a bit.  I also used a length of the pretty silk ribbon from the Inspiration Box, and a strip of gorgeous teal glimmery paper.  A few of the pretty sequins are the final accent.
For my second card today, I wanted to show you some of the adorable fish in this darling stamp set.  I used more of the cardstocks found in the Mermaid Kisses Inspiration Box to create my base.  The cards are actually included in this Inspiration Box which is really helpful.  The deep blue cardstock made a nice background for this fun underwater card.  How cute are these little creatures?

As you can see, this Inspiration Box is filled with FUN and creative wonder.  I do hope that you'll stop by Brutus Monroe to check out all the wonderful products they have for you.  Thanks again for visiting me today, and please stop by again soon.  I'm always so very grateful for your visits, comments, and friendships.

Making Waves w/Brutus Monroe

Thanks for stopping by today, friends.  It's been SO much fun for me creating with the Inspiration Boxes from Brutus Monroe.  When I received my June Inspiration Box called Mermaid Kisses, I was delighted.  I got creating immediately because I had so many ideas running through my mind.
This card started with the deep blue cardstock from the Inspiration Box.  Next, I used one of the foiling sheets (since I don't foil) as my background.  I used various Tim Holtz Oxide Inks to create my blue background.  I used Copics to color all the other images.  For those of you who, like me, don't foil; you can still do SO many fun things with these adorable sheets included in each Inspiration Box.  I make the most of mine each month.
The darling stamp set in this Mermaid Kisses Inspiration Box has so many darling images included the mermaid in two poses, treasure chest, various sponges and underwater foliage, fish, cute sentiments and accents.  AND....Mermaid Kisses includes the coordinating die-cuts, which I used.  I attached a few of the sequins from this month's lovely sequin mix.
Any time you find yourself in a creative slump, the Inspiration Box from Brutus Monroe is a great way to spark and regenerate your creative mojo.  I have fun every time I sit down to create using the FUN things found in my Inspiration Box.  Thanks for visiting me today, and please stop by again soon.

Blessings,
Karen

Rub-A-Dub-Dub With Brutus Monroe

Welcome back by, everyone.  If you haven't heard my BIG, FUN and super exciting news yet; I've joined the Inspiration Box Design Team for Brutus Monroe.  These amazing Inspiration Boxes are SO much fun, and the creative possibilities are absolutely endless.  I've already created several cards, and I'm just getting started.  Each Inspiration Box is filled with so many great products including Brutus Monroe stamps and coordinating accessories to accompany them according to the theme of each Inspiration Box released.
The Inspiration Box I used for this ADORABLE card is the Splish Splash Inspiration Box which was released in April of this year.  It has an Easter/Spring/Bath Time theme.  I used some of the colored cardstocks from the Inspiration Box along with some of my own to create the card base.  I used a piece of white cardstock, some Tim Holtz Oxide Inks, and the CUTE brick design Stencil found in the Splish Splash Inspiration Box to create my fun colorful background.
I stamped the bathtub in black ink using the DARLING new stamp set found in the Splish Splash Inspiration Box as well as the bubbles and the sentiment.  Once I'd stamped the bubbles in black, I also stamped them in embossing ink and used the FUN Shimmering Embossing Powder found in the Inspiration Box to emboss the bubbles and give them some sparkle and fun.  I did some coloring with  my Copics, and placed a few kisses of ultra-fine white glitter on a few of the bubbles.
I ran some of the cute (yellow and seafoam) silky ribbon across my card, and I also added several of the pretty sequins from the Sequin Assortment found in the Splish Splash Inspiration Box.  Yes, it's FILLED with so many wonderful things.  In the Inspiration Box, there are also several little paper sheets with different designs (bubbles, ducks, etc.) that are intended for foiling.  However, I'm not a "foiler", so I used the sheets to fussy cut LOTS of fun bubbles that I colored with my Copics, fussy cut by hand, and attached here, there, and everywhere....kinda like the pretty sequins.  And finally, there was something missing from my card RIGHT where you now see that ADORABLE little duck🦆.  Each Inspiration Box contains a pin (like a collector's pin of sorts) and in the Splish Splash Box, the pin is this darling little yellow duck.  I placed that little duck right in the rub full of bubbles, and he's quite happy there.  RUB-A-DUB-DUB.  I'm having a BLAST creating with the Inspiration Boxes from Brutus Monroe, and I think you will love them, too.  You can find all the Inspiration Boxes here; as well as hundreds of other fabulous products.
Before I run off today, I'm sharing one more project with you.  Brutus Monroe is doing a collaboration with Bearly Art Glue to promote their AMAZING glue and products.  This project is a simple glassine bag that I folded in half.  I used the Bearly Art Glue to adhere the washi tapes to the front creating a beautiful background.  I know that by using this Bearly Art Glue, these beautiful strips of washi tape will stay in place.
Another thing that I LOVE about the Bearly Art Glue is that it comes with the most AMAZING tips and applicators.  I've owned this THANKS die-cut for years; but I don't use it very often because the script is SO fine that it's always been difficult to find an adhesive that will be precise enough to get on all those fine lines.  Well, the Bearly Glue Art comes with the perfect applicator tips.  I'm finally able to use these more delicate items I'd been avoiding.
I used the inside fold of the glassing bag to add a bookmark.  I ran some more of the beautiful Shiny Sherbet Washi Tape on a smaller glassine bag.  And again, I used the Bearly Glue Art to adhere the foliage to the gift card holder.  Who wouldn't love getting a Starbucks card tucked inside a lovely gift like this?  Well, Bearly Glue Art and Brutus Monroe are always there to help you find the perfect products for your next creation.  Thanks for stopping by, and please visit again soon.

Blessings to you,
Karen

Waddle You Up To? w/Brutus Monroe

It's another great day for me to share some FUN Brutus Monroe inspirations with you all, and I'm so grateful that you're here.  I'm always super grateful for friends who stop by to take a quick peek at what I'm creating.  I really do hope that something I create will inspire you.  The Inspiration Boxes from Brutus Monroe have been SO much fun for me so far, and I can't wait to keep creating with these DARLING products.
For this sweet little card, I used the Splish Splash Inspiration Box.  I started with some of the various cardstocks to create a base, and I also used one of the foilable paper sheets (bubbles background) to create my background by coloring it with Copic markers (since I don't do foiling - as they're intended for).  I stamped that adorable DUCK twice onto the yellow cardstock from the Inspiration Box and colored them both with my Copics.  I attached one directly to the card base and I placed some 3-D Foam tabs on him.  I placed the second duck on top of the 3-D Foam to give him some dimension....like he's swimming.
I attached some of the pretty silky ribbons found in the Inspiration Box and created a sweet bow with it as well.  I stamped the adorable sentiment (Waddle You Up To?) in black ink onto a journalling sticker from my stash.  I also added a couple more of these old (October Afternoon) stickers here ad there.  I just LOVE all the sweet products found in the adorable Splish Splash Inspiration Box.  This is the third sweet card I've created with this kit so far, and I'm not slowing down yet.
Thanks again for stopping by today.  If you're looking for any more Brutus Monroe inspiration, I make my posts for them every Wednesday.  There's even more inspiration on the Brutus Monroe Blog. Please let me know if you have any questions about what I used, or just whatever.  I love hearing from you.  I'll see you again next time.

Blessings,
Karen

Shoot For The Stars w/Brutus Monroe

Welcome back, everyone!  I'm over-the-moon delighted that you've stopped by to visit me today.  It's always awesome knowing your thoughts about my cards, and hearing what you're up to in the crafting world.  Y'all inspire me SO much, and I hope this fun little card inspires you just enough to stop by Brutus Monroe to check out the Inspiration Boxes (and possibly a whole lot more, as they carry just about everything).
This sweet little card started with some of the lovely cardstocks (turquoise, orange, etc.) found in the Reach For The Stars Inspiration Box.  I used them to create my card base, and I used a piece of the pretty silky ribbon (in turquoise) to run a border across my card.  The background was created by using Mermaid Lagoon and Spiced Marmalade Tim Holtz Oxide Inks.
Next I stamped the ADORABLE rocket using the stamp set and coordinating die-cuts found in the Reach For The Stars Inspiration Box.  I also used some of the smaller accent stamps in this set (stars, "rocket thrust exhaust", sentiment, etc.) on the background as well as some of the cute glittery gold foam stars from this Inspiration Box.  A few of the coordinating sequins from this Inspiration Box were the finishing touches.
Finally, for the photo; I used a length of Black Baker's Twine to tether the astronaut (pin) to his spaceship/rocket to do some space exploration.  The black card where the astronaut is "floating in space" was treated with the super COOL White Chroma Mist found in the Inspiration Box. Once it had dried, I used the awesome Galaxy Embossing Folder (also found in this Inspiration Box) to emboss the cool constellation space background.  Let me just say....this Reach For The Stars Inspiration Box is FILLED with darling products to help you explore your creativity.
Thanks again for visiting me today, and please stop by again soon.  I'm SO super grateful for your visits and comments.  Have a wonderfully creative week, everyone.  Brutus Monroe has LOTS of great things to help spark your creativity.

Blessings,
Karen
