We took some time off for the holidays, and now we're back - ready for a brand new SUPER FUN challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon. We sure hope that you will join us. For this challenge, we want to see all the great new items you got for Christmas. It's called "Looky What I Got", and this means that you can share a project using something new you just received, or an old favorite you want to show us. Just "show us what you've got", and make sure you include ribbon, lace, twine or trim of some sort. Other than that, anything goes!
For my project, I used some new floral die-cuts I got for Christmas and some new shades of wool felt. Most of you know that I LOVE wool felt, and I received some beautiful new colors for Christmas. I was super excited to get them because I knew that, as always, Really Reasonable Ribbon would have the PERFECT ribbons and trims to match them. I'm not joking when I say that they have just the right colors for ANY project......they really do!
Once I had selected my patterned paper and inked the edges, I machine stitched some vintage sheet music to it. Then, I die-cut my flowers from my new wool felt (these shades are called Pineapple Mist and Honeydew Melon. Aren't they pretty?) Then, I set some lovely Mulberry Flowers in the centers of the die-cut flowers. I added some the super sweet Two-Toned Yellow Open Roses and accented them with Wild Orchid Crafts Mulberry Paper Leaves 30mm. Those were placed at the bottom right.
Then, in the upper left-hand corner of my card, I added a sweet bow made from a snippet of Burlap Center-Stitched Green Ribbon, a small piece of Arianna Natural Crocheted Lace, a length of Mimosa Yellow Seam Binding and Bay Leaf Seam Binding, as well a length of both Diva Lemonwood Solid Baker's Twine and Green Apple Baker's Twine with tied ends and a clear flower-shaped button placed in the center. There's also a stamped sentiment (Love is Patient, Love is Kind) and a Tim Holtz "love" card that has a sweet little rusty paper clip added to its side. Really Reasonable Ribbon really does have the PERFECT trim for EVERY project!
We sure hope that each of you will stop by the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog to play along in our new challenge, and each day for lots of fun, inspiration galore, and great deals on all our fabulous ribbons, trims, and SO much more! Have fun playing along, showing us "what ya' got", and creating with ribbon. We LOVE seeing your creations.
Have a blessed week,
Karen
