Hello, sweet friends. Thanks for visiting me today as I share a "make-up" post that should have gone live last Monday. I always have great intentions (LOL).....but sometimes my follow-through gets disrupted. I was visiting my parents for a week (well, it was supposed to be a week) while our kids (daughter, SIL and two grands) visited them as well. We had a wonderful visit on the first half of the trip. THEN........it happened. I guess I caught Covid. I was DOWN FLAT in bed for 5-6 days and, needless to say, I missed a blog post or two.I used black cardstock as well as a fun 6x6 paper pad from Echo Park. The background (Pledge of Allegiance) is from the Scripty Backgrounds Mini #2 Stamp Set and I stamped it in three colors (blue, red and grey) to create the background. For the flag and sentiment, I used the Red, White and Blue Stamp Set and coordinating dies. I added some pretty trims including a lovely white lace and some red baker's twine; and you can find them in the Ribbons Section. The stars are from the Glory Stamp/Die Set.This second patriotic card was created using the Red, White & Blue Stamp Set and Dies. I really wanted to keep it simple and make that GORGEOUS UNITED STATED FLAG the main focus of the card. If you don't yet own a good patriotic set with a flag, this is a MUST-HAVE stamp set to help you create cards that celebrate the United States. I love how the flag purposely looks "worn" because it reminds us of the struggles that have made our country great. Today is a great day to treat yourself to something new from Stamp Simply Clear Stamps.
I'm sharing my PATRIOTIC card here:
Cupcake Challenge Blog - Challenge #544 - STRIPES - I went a different route with the "stripes" and I used a flag which has stars and stripes that represent our amazing country, the United States of America.
Blessings,
Karen
