Happy Birthday, Peach

Hello, crafty friends and thanks for stopping by my blog today.  I had a bit of spare time today and decided to create a card for a couple of challenges where I love to play along, but don't always find the time to do so.  Like most of you, I'm usually making cards for Design Team assignments.  However, it's always a real treat when we can just create for fun.  This is one of those cards.
I used grey cardstock and then layered that with a light peach cardstock.  The third layer is white cardstock that I stencilled using a Tim Holtz stencil, and then pressure embossed using a Tim Holtz ruler stencil.  I used various oxide inks to create the background.  I added a glittered frame from Crate Paper.  It's a bit more pink than I'd hoped for, but again.....I use what I have.  I added some pretty sequins to the frame.  The sentiments are from two different Paper Sweeties stamp sets.
The finishing touch was a sweet light peach seam binding bow that I ran across my card.  That's about it, and while it's not as peach as I'd hoped for; it does have the "peach" sentiment because the friend to whom I'm sending this card (who's turning 46) always uses that term, "you're a peach" so I thought this was quite appropriate.  Thanks again for visiting me today.

I'm sharing my card in the following challenges that inspired me:

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Pick A Number - I'm picking the number 46 because that's how old my "peach" of a friend is turning.

Colorful Options Challenge - June: Peach - I was inspired by the fact that there are several shades of peach in the inspiration photo.  My card, like the colors in the photo, is a bit more pink than I'd hoped for, but I also added the "peach" sentiment for reasons explained above.  This was a FUN card to make and I was very much inspired by this inspiration photo.
Stencil Fun Challenge Blog - June: Optional Layered Stencil - I didn't use a layered stencil, but I did use a cool Tim Holtz stencil on my background.

TIME OUT Challenge Blog - Challenge #240 "Sportive" - According to the inspiration prompt, the definition of "sportive" is playful and lighthearted, and related to being a "good sport".  This card is exactly that - it has a playful twist on words (peach) and s a light-hearted card for a very special friend.  This challenge is sponsored by the one and only Newton's Nook, and I don't own any of their stamps yet so I'm really excited to play along for the chance to win some (and to have a good excuse to spend some money on our dear friend Newton).

Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge - June: Wedding Optional Twist - I didn't use the optional twist, but I did use a cool Tim Holtz ruler embossing folder on my card.

Thanks again for visiting.  Have a super creative week, everyone.

Blessings,
Karen
