When it comes to cardmaking and stamping, I absolutely LOVE everything that Stamp Simply has to offer and so will you. This AWESOME company carries stamps with beautiful scriptures, perfect sentiments for every occasion, images to match, coordinating dies, stencils and SO much more. Today I'm sharing a masculine card and bookmark duo that created using just a few of my (many) favorites from Stamp Simply.
I used a piece of green patterned paper from the Craft Consortium Organic Ink Drops 6x6 Paper Pad for my base and I layered that with a piece of dark wood patterned paper from the Craft Consortium's Wood Textures 6x6 Paper Pad for the next layer. I pressure embossed that woodgrain patterned paper using the Sizzix Lumber Embossing Folder to give it texture (it actually cracked...lol). The trees were cut from basic white cardstock using the Tim Holtz Treeline Die and they were inked with Tim Holtz Oxide Inks.
Once I had my trees in place (two layers), I stamped the deer silhouette from the Farmhouse Christmas Stamp Set and I attached him using 3-D Foam Tabs. His antlers looked locked in those trees; and they actually are. The sentiment is found in the Harvest Stamp Set and was stamped onto a banner using the Fishtail Banner Dies.
I used the A Godly Man Stamp Set to stamp the bookmark sentiment and I also used the deer image again from the Farmhouse Christmas Stamp Set and added cut pieces of the trees by using the Tim Holtz Treeline Die . I also ran the bookmark through my embossing/cutting machine with the Sizzix 3-D Lumber Embossing Folder. Some Burlap String at the top of the bookmark was the finishing touch to this simple little duo. Now I can tuck the bookmark inside the card before giving it to the recipient. Even men need bookmarks for the Bible, reading, etc. It's a simple gift to tuck inside a card, and it's SO easy to do.
What are you creating this week? We're here to help you at Stamp Simply and you're always sure to find lots of FAB inspiration on the Stamp Simply Blog. We look forward to your visits. Be sure to ask me if you have any questions about what I used on my card or bookmark. Happy crafting, everyone.
I'm playing along here:
Colorful Options Challenge - August: Yellow/Green - This card is green (no yellow) but the inspiration was still found in the foliage and greens.
A Place to Start Challenge Blog - August: Trees/Leaves - I used a Tim Holtz tree die-cut and cut two layers that I stacked strategically to create my tree line.
Blessings,
Karen
Karen these are two stunning projects - loving the trees and how you have water coloured them.
ReplyDeleteI assume it was your paper that cracked, not your embossing folder? If it was the paper, mist it lightly with water before embossing, and it doesn't crack, and gives a fabulous impression
