Christmas Coffee Blessings

No matter what time of year it is, I'm always grateful for coffee.  Most days I enjoy a minimum of one, and sometimes two, vanilla lattes in the "morning".  But the term "morning" is even open for interpretation now that I'm retired.  Perhaps it's 10:00 AM, but it's still morning at my house until I've had at least one latte.  This card combines several things I love which include coffee, stamping, Christmas and Creative Worship Stamps.

This card started with a black cardstock base layered with light kraft cardstock that I cut twice using the Stitched Rectangle Frame Dies.  I stamped the base of the top light kraft layer using the darling Christmas Wish List Stamp.  I used the Holly Christmas Stamp Set for all the pretty foliage and berries you see; including on the coffee cup that was cut using the Travel Cup Dies.

I love to play along in the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenges whenever I possibly can.  It was a joy to have some extra time today to create a card for this FUN challenge.  I hope that you've been having fun creating cards this weekend as well.  If you let me know what you made this weekend, I'll be sure to stop by and take a peek.  It always makes me smile when you stop by to say hello and leave me some love.

#Coffee Card Paper Layering

It's always so much FUN when I'm able to just create something to share in the challenges I love.  This card uses lots of neglected old products from a sweet Crate Paper line called Bundled Up.  I used a piece of repurposed cardboard for my base along with lots of old papers, chipboard, ephemera, stickers, etc. from this beloved older Crate Paper line.  I also love the warm homespun feel that machine stitching adds, so I incorporated that as well.  I know there's a lot going on here, so I'll try to mention everything I used.

Once I had all my papers in place and did my machine stitching, I die-cut the heart and hand-stitched it using some Solid Baker's Twine.  I also used this same Baker's Twine to add a double bow to the heart.  I stamped the background of the heart using Texture Tiles 9 Stamp Set and the coffee cups using Coffee Talk Stamp Set from Creative Worship.  The #coffee stamp is from Paper Sweeties.

The centers (wrappers) around the coffee cups were stamped using some of the Bundled Up pattern paper.  I also used 3-D Foam Tabs to raise up some of the images (coffee cups and heart).  Everything else is held down with my tape runner.  Just let me know if you have any questions about the other things I used on this crazy busy card.

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop Day 1

Hello, crafters and COFFEE lovers!  Welcome by my blog today as we all begin Day 1 of the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog Hop.  Today I'm sharing a project on behalf of one of my Design Teams and a Super Sponsor of this FUN event, Paper Sweeties.  There are LOTS of great coffee themed sets at Paper Sweeties.  YOU could win one of these sweet coffee stamp sets by playing along.  The card I'm sharing with you today features some of them.

I used cream cardstock and a Christmas plaid patterned paper to create my card base, and I machine stitched them together.  Next, I used the Keep Calm and Drink Coffee Sweet Cuts and I cut my coffee cup from a piece of woodgrain patterned paper and I inked the edges with the Mud Pie Ink Pad and stamped it with the word BLESSED using the Blessed Stamp Set.

For the "steam", I used the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts and cut the squiggly border from green paper.  I used the Basket Add-Ons: Thinking Of You Sweet Cuts to cut my sign, and onto that I stamped #coffee using the Tackle Life One Cup At A Time Stamp Set.

I stamped three pretty holly and ivy images using the Meet Me Under The Mistletoe Stamp Set, colored them with my Copics, and cut them with the Meet Me Under The Mistletoe Sweet Cuts.  I attached them with 3-D foam tape.  The background is painted with taupe watercolor, and I splattered a bit of brown and red paint here and there.  That's about it.

Of course, I couldn't resist also sharing a tag today.  It was all Kim Heggins' fault (or at least that's my story, and I'm sticking to it...lol).  Kim shared a darling "coffee themed" tag on Day 4, and that opened the window for me to share some coffee themed Christmas tags.  I used the For You Sweet Cuts for the tag, the Meet Me Under The Mistletoe Stamp Set and Sweet Cuts, and Coffee Yes Please Stamp Set and Sweeet Cuts for the mug.

Being Properly Caffeinated

Hey friends, fellow crafters and coffee lovers.  Welcome by today as I share a caffeine fueled FUN card I created this afternoon - while sipping on my third vanilla latte of the day.  Yes, I'm addicted to caffeine, I admit it.  I know that's not necessarily a good thing and I do get headaches if I don't have caffeine; but I enjoy it and I'm not giving it up any time soon.  We all have our vices, right?  I wish I could say that caffeine is my only addiction.  I do tend to have the same problem when it comes to cute scrapbooking and card-making products as well.  Shhhh!!!  That can be out little secret.

I started with a cardstock base, and a brown cardstock that I dry (or pressure) embossed using a cute Tim Holtz embossing folder.  I tend to forget about my embossing folders, so it was fun to pull it out and use it on this card.  I ran some heart-beat zig zag machine stitching around the edges (as I did on my last card).  Too lazy to change the stitch selection on my machine?  Really?  Anyway, that explains my card base.

Next. I cut my tag using the Paper Sweeties For You Sweet Cuts from a library card and used that as my focal point.  I stamped and cut the cute coffee cup using another Paper Sweeties favorite called Keep Calm and Drink Coffee.  I used that same set to stamp the sentiment on my coffee cup and envelope.  The smaller coffee cup on my envelope is from the Paper Sweeties set called Tackle Life One Cup at A Time.  The frame to the left is the Scalloped Rectangle Frame Sweet Cuts, and the Seam Binding is also from Paper Sweeties, but I stained it with walnut ink.

I like to make a matching envelope for my cards.  I also like to make a matching bookmark or tag for my cards.  These things just make card-giving extra special and memorable.  Quick easy touches that mean so much.  Who wouldn't LOVE to get a sweet handmade card in the mail?  I know that any time I receive one, it makes me happy.  Why not send one to someone this week and let them know you're think about them.  I know it would mean a lot to them.  And...there's great joy in giving as well.  Thanks for stopping by.  It means so much to me, and I'll stop by to visit you as well.  Just leave me a comment to let me know that you were here.  Have a blessed week.  By the way, I'm playing along in the challenges listed below.  Come by and join the fun!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Make a Card & Matching Envelope - This is my 5th and final entry into this fun challenge.

Pixie's Crafty Workshop/Pixie's Snippets Playground #389 - This card was SO much fun to make.  I've had this piece of cream paper (snippet/left over) sitting on my craft table for months now.  I had die-cut it into the rectangle frame, and this snippet just sat there for the longest time.  I decided to place it on this card, even though it is cream and the rest is white because I thought it gave a nice contrast.  I also used snippets of leftover white cardstock that were laying around on my table to stamp and cut the coffee  mug and steam.  You've just GOTTA use those snippets!!

#COFFEE

Hi there, everyone!  I'd like to share this sweet cup of coffee with you all.  I used a piece of woodgrain patterned paper (Crate Paper Happy Camper) for my base, and I machine stitched a cool pattern around the edges.  I used a second piece of floral patterned paper (Echo Park) in the center of my card; and I framed that piece of paper with a Taylored Expressions Scalloped Frame die cut from vellum.

I stamped my coffee mug, whipped cream, and marshmallows and "frosted" them with ultra-fine glitter, and I stamped the sentiment (#COFFEE) using Tackle Life One Cup At A Time from Paper Sweeties.  I love going through my stamp stash and finding sets that I haven't used in quite a while. 

I also used some Paper Sweeties Seam Binding that I stained with Tim Holtz Oxide Ink to create my bow, and I topped that with some Mulberry Flowers and I tucked in a few Double Head Stamens.  It's a fairly simple card, but these lovely products make it look super sweet.

To decorate my coordinating envelope for this card, I again used the Paper Sweeties stamp set called Tackle Life One Cup At A Time and I stamped the same sentiment (#COFFEE) as well as the cute little coffee mug.  Making a matching envelope is fun, cute, and gives you the complete set.  Who wouldn't LOVE getting a cute envelope in the mail?

I'm having fun this week playing along in a few challenges which is a nice treat for me.  I don't often get the time to play along like I once did, so I really enjoy being able to enter these FUN challenges.  I hope you're having a wonderfully creative week as well.  Thanks again for stopping by.

Hello, blog friends and welcome by.  Today is New Release Day at Paper Sweeties, and I hope you've taken the time to hop along with us to see all the adorable projects using the new products.  I don't know about you, but I'm getting excited about the Fall/Winter Coffee Blog Hop where Paper Sweeties is a Sponsor/Super Sponsor along with oodles of other FAB companies.  I guess I had coffee on the brain today (as I do every day).

I was facing a little "blogger issue" so I looked to my good old caffeine (vanilla latte) to calm me down and keep me focused.  That's what the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog is all about.  You'll find lots of great Caffeine Fueled Paper Play there along with loads of great inspiration - just like you'll find on the Paper Sweeties Blog.

My card started with a piece of brown cardstock to which I machine stitched some Echo Park patterned paper and a journaling card.  I took half of a doily and stained it with Tim Holtz Oxide Ink in Brushed Corduroy, as I also did with some Frosting Seam Binding.  Next, I used the stickers found in the Pumpkin Spiced Doodle Pops (coffee mug and hearts).  The print you see on my card (FRESH and 25 cents) are printed on the journaling card I used.

Welcome by!  One thing that Paper Sweeties has in common with the vast majority of the crafting community is our deep LOVE of all things coffee, tea, and crafty sweetness.  With that in mind, we're teaming up with some of our friends over at the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog to celebrate with a special Blog Hop.  There will be prizes and LOTS of fabulous inspiration; so be sure to hop along for your chance to win and to be inspired.

Paper Sweeties carries so many cute coffee-themed stamps and dies (sweet cuts as we like to call them) to help you make ADORABLE cards and projects for all the fun coffee hops and challenges, and...of course, to give to all your coffee-loving friends.  For my first card, I used the Keep Calm and Drink Coffee Stamp Set for the coffee mug, steam and sentiment.  I used the Keep Calm and Drink Coffee Sweet Cuts for the cup and the steam.  I also used some sweet Cotton Candy Seam Binding and a few Marshmallow Sequins and a Blueberry Sequin. I used Crate Paper navy and pink patterned papers and a navy journalling sticker, and used the ColorBox Coal Ink Pad.

My second project is a sweet Christmas card that I made using some non-traditional colors from a GORGEOUS line of papers by Prima called Santa Baby.  The small touches of red make it work somehow, right?  I used a darling Christmas stamp set from Paper Sweeties called Homemade With Love, and this is such a DELICIOUS set.  Using it, I stamped the cupcake onto a white cardstock base and cut it out with the coordinating Homemade With Love Sweet Cuts, and then stamped parts of it again onto the Christmas patterned papers.

I outlined the cupcake with chunky pink glitter, and I stamped the cute peppermint sticks and die-cut them as well using this same sweet set from Paper Sweeties.  The coffee cup was cut from dictionary paper using the Keep Calm & Drink Coffee Sweet Cuts, and the steam is from the Keep Calm & Drink Coffee Stamp Set.  I also tied in some Bubblegum Seam Binding and Watermelon Seam Binding into this extra sweet card, and tucked in the small tag from the Stitched Tags #1 Sweet Cuts.  And yes....I realize I used A LOT of Paper Sweeties' products on this card, but what can I say?  Paper Sweeties just has SO many adorable products that you end up always wanting to use them all.
