Christmas Coffee Blessings

No matter what time of year it is, I'm always grateful for coffee.  Most days I enjoy a minimum of one, and sometimes two, vanilla lattes in the "morning".  But the term "morning" is even open for interpretation now that I'm retired.  Perhaps it's 10:00 AM, but it's still morning at my house until I've had at least one latte.  This card combines several things I love which include coffee, stamping, Christmas and Creative Worship Stamps.
This card started with a black cardstock base layered with light kraft cardstock that I cut twice using the Stitched Rectangle Frame Dies.  I stamped the base of the top light kraft layer using the darling Christmas Wish List Stamp.  I used the Holly Christmas Stamp Set for all the pretty foliage and berries you see; including on the coffee cup that was cut using the Travel Cup Dies.
I love to play along in the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenges whenever I possibly can.  It was a joy to have some extra time today to create a card for this FUN challenge.  I hope that you've been having fun creating cards this weekend as well.  If you let me know what you made this weekend, I'll be sure to stop by and take a peek.  It always makes me smile when you stop by to say hello and leave me some love.
There are so many great stamps, dies, stencils and products at Creative Worship Stamps.  It's always fun to see what my creative friends create when they do purchase these awesome products.  Inspiration comes from everywhere, and I always feel like the more we all share our art in challenges, the more who get the pleasure of seeing our creativity and possibly being inspired.  You all inspire me every day.  Thank you for visiting, and please stop by again soon.

I'm playing along here with this caffeinated Christmas card:

Double D Challenges - Tea or Coffee - I choose coffee 9 times out of 10.
Happy crafting, y'all.

#Coffee Card Paper Layering

It's always so much FUN when I'm able to just create something to share in the challenges I love.  This card uses lots of neglected old products from a sweet Crate Paper line called Bundled Up.  I used a piece of repurposed cardboard for my base along with lots of old papers, chipboard, ephemera, stickers, etc. from this beloved older Crate Paper line.  I also love the warm homespun feel that machine stitching adds, so I incorporated that as well.  I know there's a lot going on here, so I'll try to mention everything I used.
Once I had all my papers in place and did my machine stitching, I die-cut the heart and hand-stitched it using some Solid Baker's Twine.  I also used this same Baker's Twine to add a double bow to the heart.  I stamped the background of the heart using Texture Tiles 9 Stamp Set and the coffee cups using Coffee Talk Stamp Set from Creative Worship.  The #coffee stamp is from Paper Sweeties.
The centers (wrappers) around the coffee cups were stamped using some of the Bundled Up pattern paper.  I also used 3-D Foam Tabs to raise up some of the images (coffee cups and heart).  Everything else is held down with my tape runner.  Just let me know if you have any questions about the other things I used on this crazy busy card.
Thank you very much for visiting me today.  I sincerely hope that you will stop by and visit my INSTAGRAM PAGE and FOLLOW me there.  It's been so difficult trying to get Followers there, but I'm working on it as best I can.

I'm playing along here:

Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenges - Challenge #52/April - I love to play along, and I also enjoy seeing all the awesome inspiration.

The Paper Funday Challenges - Challenge #86 - Entry #4 - Anything Goes/Optional: Dies/Punches - All the dies I used are listed above.  And as always, I used lots of paper layers.

A Cut Above Challenges - April - I used a heart stitching die-cut on my card.

A Cup of Caffeinated Cheer

No matter what time of year it may be, I'm always up for a Christmas card that includes a coffee or caffeinated element.  That's why I always LOVE the challenges over at the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge where I'm Guest Designing this month.  This card I'm sharing is one of those extreme "Frankenstein cards" that was literally put together with a little of this and a little of that, and some extra things tucked in here and there.  It's all very random, indeed.  But that's the FUN of making art...it can be a hot mess sometimes, and that's alright.  The way I look at it, if it includes Christmas and coffee, it's a win.  This isn't my finest artwork by any means, but with all the travelling I'm doing lately, I'm truly just grateful to have it posted.
This card started with black cardstock layered with red cardstock layered with a kraft cardstock that I cut using the XOXO Pierced Plate Die from Pretty Pink Posh.  Much of this darling background got covered with all the things I added.  First, I grabbed (super stash item) an October Afternoon (Naughty or Nice) journalling card.  I stamped an image from the Tim Holtz Brewed Blueprint Stamp Set onto that card.  Part of that stamped image rolled over onto other pieces including a Tim Holtz Christmas card (wishes).  I added the #coffee stamped image and die-cut (yummy) from Paper Sweeties, some Tim Holtz Christmas Ephemera, and some vintage sheet music.
I kept cutting up small pieces of the Tim Holtz Christmas Ephemera and adding them here and there.  Like I said, a lot of random pieces went into my "Frankenstein" card.  Or at least that's what I call a card that has bits of this and that...not all necessarily from one company.  Once I'd pulled out a Christmas bin, I just kept adding all sorts of things.  The tiny coffee cups were stamped onto even more of the Tim Holtz Christmas Ephemera using a stamp set from (long-since retired) V's Sweet Ideas.  Have I covered it all yet?  lol
Thanks so much for your visit here today.  We all hope that you'll come by and share your caffeinated Christmas cards over at this month's Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge.  There's lots of great inspiration from Amy and her talented Design Team, a fun prize, and of course...coffee.  I hope to see you there and out in social media land.  Happy crafting, everyone.
Don't forget to stop by and play along in these FUN challenges:

We Love 2 Create Mixed Media Challenge - Challenge #1 - Anything Goes - Sponsored by Polkadoodles - This challenge caught my eye because it is called "Mixed Media Challenge" and this card is (my version anyway) mixed media.  I used a lot of ephemera and various Tim Holtz products among lots of other things.

Blessings,
Karen

A Cup of Cheer w/The Card Concept

One thing I absolutely loveđź’•, besides crafting, is a good vanilla latte.  When I get the opportunity to combine these two things, I'm in a state of bliss.  Creating a cute coffee card while sipping on a nice vanilla latte is absolutely divine.  I'm not hard to please...crafting and coffee.  I'll always say yes please to that combo.  That's the overall inspiration for this month's FUN Cozy New Year challenge over The Card Concept, and we all hope that you'll come and join us.
When you look at the beautifully delicious inspiration photo, you don't have to necessarily make a coffee card.  Nothing has to be taken literally.  Perhaps it's a color that appeals to you, a texture, a pattern or an image.  Any part of the inspiration photo can be a starting point for your creativity.  We're just really hoping that you'll take on the challenge and join us.  The challenges over at The Card Concept are always fun, and there's always lots of great inspiration as well.  Some of the Design Team Members have shared some very special cards to inspire you and to help get your creativity flowing.
My card started with a light kraft cardstock that I cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies from Creative Worship.  I used this as my base layered with a matching layer cut from white cardstock for additional girth.  I lightly inked the kraft cardstock and stamped the background lightly using the pretty Faith Definitions 1 Stamp Set.  I was, of course, drawn to the coffee image and the warm Wintery colors and patterns.  I tried to stick with this Nordic theme in creating my Freestyle Collage card.  I cut two wreaths from green corrugated cardboard using the super cool Lovely Wreath Dies, and I tucked in some greens which are Jolee's foliage cuts from my super stash.
I added some red accents to the wreath, and I used the pretty Holiday Cheer Stamp Set to add the coffee cup, candy canes and sentiment.  I colored the images with my Copics.  This is really a very simple card, but I was very much behind schedule and not prepared for this challenge.  I took great inspiration from a sweet (similar) card made by my talented friend, Esther Asbury.  Her cards always inspire me.  We sure hope that you're inspired to come play along in this FUN challenge and let us know what's inspiring you.
It would be fabulous to have you stop by The Card Concept to play along in our challenge this month.  It's always more fun when everyone can play along, and this is a great challenge to join because you have so much inspiration to get you started.  Thanks for visiting me here today, and please know that I truly appreciate you.

I'm sharing my fun coffee card in these challenges I love:

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Today I had the fun opportunity to do some crafting just for fun.  I've been looking forward to having the time to use this sweet new die-cut set that a "Secret Santa" sent to me in the mail.  I don't know who it was from (other than that it was postmarked from Phoenix, Arizona) but, nonetheless, THANK YOU to whomever it was that sent me these lovely new dies from Honey Bee Stamps.  They are adorable, I love them, and I appreciate the gift.  Thanks for thinking of me.
I used a cream card for the base, and I layered that with several patterned papers from a line called Bundled Up by Crate Paper.  I machine stitched my papers together.  I used the darling In Stitches Candy Cane Dies from Honey Bee Stamps to create my ink-splattered candy canes.  I stitched them with DMC floss and attached them with Scor-Tape and 3-D White Foam Tabs.
Next, I used the Holiday Cheer Stamp Set from Creative Worship Stamps to stamp my sweet sentiment.  I also used the Lovely Layers Dies from Honey Bee Stamps for the foliage, holly, berries and bow.  The darling little coffee mug (because I can't do without coffee) is from the Coffee Talk Stamp Set from Creative Worship Stamps.  Lots of cuteness.
I'll be sharing my coffee candy cane card in a few fun challenges where I enjoy playing along whenever I'm able to do so.  Like I said, it's always fun and exciting when I can create just for fun.  I really do hope that you're all ready for Christmas and that you have a blessed time with family and friends.

Here's where I'm sharing my card:

A Caffeinated Style Merry Christmas

Like many of you, my sweet creative friends, I've been playing along and hopping along in the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenges for many years now.  This month, for the first time, I have the honor of being a Guest Designer for this FUN challenge.  We all have our own "go to" beverage to keep us caffeinated and/or hydrated while crafting.  Right?  Coffee, tea and cocoa cards have always been some of my favorites; especially when combined with the Christmas theme.  What a wonderful combination for a coffee-loving girl like me.  I really am blessed to be one of the Guest Designers this month at the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge Blog.  I sure hope you'll be inspired to stop by and share your caffeinated Christmas cards in their FUN challenge this month.  The sponsor for this challenge is Not 2 Shabby Shop.  They're offering one lucky participant a $15 credit to their FAB store.  The Not 2 Shabby Shop carries so many great products that you'll love.
I used a kraft cardstock for the base, and I layered up my card with lots of yummy patterned papers from a wonderful line called Bundled Up by Crate Paper.  Once I'd layered all those delicious papers, I attached a chipboard frame also from the Crate Paper Bundled Up line.  Inside the frame, I added sequins to create a fun shaker element.  The stack of coffee cups (also stamped on this patterned paper) are from the Have a Cup On Us Stamp Set and I cut them using the Have a Cup On Us Dies from Stamp Simply.  The Merry Christmas sentiment was stamped using the Lantern Light Stamp Set from Creative Worship and was cut using the coordinating Lantern Light Dies.
The strip going up the right-hand side of my card starts with a tall thin tag from the Bundled Up line.  On top of that, I layered the three Stamp Simply coffee mugs, a candy cane, berries and bits of foliage that were all cut using the Lovely Layers Candy Cane Die Set from Honey Bee Stamps Die Set out of scraps of paper from this line that I own way too much of still.  Crate Paper (most every line of it) has always been a weakness of mine, and it's SO darling that I now own copious amounts of it.  For this reason, I enjoy stamping onto patterned paper scraps sometimes.  This also relieves me of having to color things (another skill where I'm lacking).  Let's be honest.
Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my card.  I'll be sharing it in a few fun challenges.  It will be great fun to see what you create this month to share with us at the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge.  Grab a cuppa your favorite drink (caffeinated or otherwise) and get creative.  By the way, I would be SO extra grateful if any of you would kindly stop by myđź’šđź’– Instagram Account and Follow me there.  I'm trying desperately to grow my Following there, and I'm finding it SO hard.  Thank you so much!
Simply create any coffee, tea, cocoa or caffeinated beverage Christmas themed card to link up in this FUN monthly challenge.  You can read all the details for November Challenge #47 on the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge Blog.  Happy caffeinated crafting, everyone.

I'll be sharing my caffeinated card by playing along in these fun challenges that I enjoy:

Sending Holiday Cheer

Hello, creative friends!  Welcome by today.  If you haven't yet had the delight of seeing the sweet New Release this month from Creative Worship Stamps, I can confidently say that you're going to LOVE it.  The NEW stamps, dies and stencils are absolutely darling.  The card I'm sharing today combines some of the new with some of the old.  Everything at Creative Worship Stamps is truly delightful.
For this card, I used kraft cardstocks that I layered.  I added several patterned papers from the Bundled Up line by Crate Paper.  I used some of my snippets (scraps) to add banners and to stamp some of my images.  I followed a sketch (see below) from Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers' October Sketch Challenge.  I created the layout using this sketch and the pretty patterned papers.  This created my card for the most part.
I used the Sweet Holiday Cheer Stamp Set for the coffee cups and main sentiment.  The candle and holly/berries images, as well as the Merry Christmas sentiment are found in the wonderful NEW Lantern Light Stamp Set from Creative Worship Stamps.  I cut the candle, holly/berries, and sentiment using the coordinating NEW Lantern Light Dies.  I used more snippets (paper scraps) to layer the sentiments to help them stand out better.  Each image and sentiment is raised up a bit using 3-D Foam Tabs.
On the background of several of the patterned papers (the red base and the grid papers) I used the NEW Vintage Snippets Stamp Set to create some pretty accents.  I used Hickory Smoke Oxide Ink to lightly stamp all those sweet vintage background images.  They're subtle, but they're there.  Little accents like that can add so much fun to our cards.  The sweet images from the various Creative Worship stamp sets always complement one another so nicely.  Please let me know if you have any questions about what I used.  Like I mentioned earlier, you won't want to miss seeing this DARLING NEW RELEASE at Creative Worship Stamps.  Thanks so much for visiting me here today.  If you'll pop over to my Instagram Page, I'd love to have you FOLLOW me there.  You can find loads of great (and super sweet) inspiration on the Creative Worship IG Page as well.  I'll see you out there in the creative world.  In the meantime, I'm sharing my card in the following challenges that I love.

Sparkles Christmas Challenges - Challenge #177 - Non-Traditional Christmas Colors - I specifically wanted to add in the PINK to this card to throw off the super traditional, and sometimes just too predictable, Christmas colors.  I love the pop of pink in there.  I found this challenge by way of my talented blog friend, Billie Anderson.  Her cards always put a big smile on my face.

Build Your Stash Holiday Cardmakers' October Sketch Challenge - October Challenge #62 - See the cute sketch below that inspired my card.  I'll be perfectly honest in saying that I didn't measure each piece and follow the exact dimensions given.  I hope that doesn't disqualify me.  But nonetheless, I love to play along when I can.
Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge - October Challenge #46 - I used coffee images and sentiments from Creative Worship Stamps.

Art Nudge Challenge - October: Photo Prompts (See Below) - For this entry, I followed the image in the lower left (1025C) with the basket of cookies.  I love the colors (reds, blues, greens and kraft brown), and I also wanted to add an element of food/coffee.  This challenge is new to me, and I'm so glad to have found it.
Have a wonderfully creative week, everyone.

Blessings,
Karen

SWEET Holiday Wishes w/Creative Worship

Welcome by today, sweet crafty friends!  I'm so glad you're here as I share this fun card I created for Creative Worship Stamps using some of the NEW Release items from the awesome September NEW Release along with some of my older favorites.  Creative Worship will always provide the most amazing stamps, dies, stencils, oxide inks, and other useful (and desirable) products.  How fun is this card?
I used brown, red and kraft cardstocks to layer my card base.  I had this piece of grungy ledger patterned paper in my stash for years and I'd never used it.  I decided to use it on this card.  The first thing I did was to stencil the background with Frayed Burlap Oxide Ink and Red Brick Oxide Ink using the NEW Circle Pattern Stencil.  The next NEW set I used is the Vintage Postcards Stamp Set, and I also used the awesome Going Postal Stamp Set to complete the background.
The patterned paper was cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies, and the smaller rectangle is also cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  On that smaller cut rectangle is where I did a touch more stencilling and then stamped the sentiment, coffee cups and candy canes.  All those images (and sentiments) can be found in the Holiday Cheer Stamp Set.  I used pieces of that grungy ledger patterned paper to stamp everything.  I hand cut the images and colored them using my Copics.
The sentiment and images are raised up using 3-D White Foam Tabs.  You can find so much fabulous inspiration every day on the Creative Worship Stamps Instagram Page.  I'd sure LOVE to have you "Follow" me on my Instagram Page.  Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a wonderfully creative week.  I appreciate your visits here.

I'm playing along and sharing this card in the following:

Die Cut Divas Challenge - September: Anything Goes - For this fun Christmas card, I used Stitched Rectangle Dies from Creative Worship for the outer scalloped piece as well as for the sentiment piece.

Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge - Challenge #45 - Anything Goes w/Christmas & Coffee/Cocoa

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Layer It Up - I used LOTS of paper layers.

The Paper Funday Challenges: September Challenge #80 - Anything Goes/Optional Changing Seasons - As always, I have lots of great paper layers.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Inspired By Music - This card was inspired by the song "Holiday Wishes" by Indina Menzel.  My sentiment, from Creative Worship, had a stamp with the same words.  How FUN!

Blessings,
Karen

I Hope This Perks You Up

Any time I see a coffee challenge, I love playing along.  No need to wonder why.  It's because I love coffee and crafting.  I almost always have a caffeinated beverage next to me when I'm in my craft room.  It's my creative fuel, I suppose.  There are a few fun coffee challenges taking place right now where I'm excited to share my card; and I sure had a great time creating it.
I started with basic black cardstock for my base.  The patterned paper is from JilliBean Soup and I cut it with a curved edge (by hand) and inked it with Mowed Grass Ink.  The coffee cups I stamped, colored and cut were done using a very old stamp set from my stash from V's Sweet Ideas where I used to serve on the Design Team.  The tree stump, darling animals and leaves were stamped using the Woodland Littles Stamp Set from Hello Bluebird.
The little holly and ivy images and sentiment are from Paper Sweeties where I also served on the Design Team.  Yes, it's a blessing to have a large stash of stamps.  I used some crumbled styrofoam to create the "snow" on my card.  This is a trick I learned long ago from my creative friend, Esther.  She's always got a trick or two up her creative sleeve.
I'm excited to play along in these caffeinated challenges.  I hope you're creating some fun cards and having a happy week sharing your art out there in blogland and on social media.  Speaking of which, I'd love to have you come Follow me on Instagram as well as here on my blog.  Thanks so much for your visit today.

I'm playing along in the following:

Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge - Challenge #34 - Coffee, Christmas and Whimsical Winter Theme

TIME OUT Challenges - Challenge #274 - Photo Inspiration - Well, it's pretty clear how I was inspired.  They had me at coffee.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Add Some Texture" so I used shredded styrofoam to create some snow to give my card extra texture, and to make it more "Wintery and Christmassy".

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Simon Says "Use Patterned Paper" - I used an (older) green plaid patterned paper from JilliBean Soup at the bottom of my card.

Not 2 Shabby Blog - October Mood Board Challenge - I was inspired by the pinks, the deer, and the sweet images on the mood board.  I don't own any Not 2 Shabby branded products yet.
Thanks again for visiting today.
Blessings,
Karen

Wishing You the Sweetest Season

Have I mentioned that I love coffee?  LOL  I'm being sarcastic, of course, because anyone who's ever stopped by my blog knows that I'm a coffee lover.  In fact, there are many days that I have far more than just one of my delicious vanilla lattes.  I need to be mindful, however, that they have more calories than we likely realize.  Oh my!  And speaking of calories....how about these delicious candy apples?  YUM
My delicious card started with cream cardstock.  I used some fabulous dies from The Greetery on this card including the Frosted Frames Die to cut my background from brown and red cardstocks.  I used the same cardstocks to cut my other images.  The darling apples were cut using the Carmel Apple Dies and the coffee mug was cut using the Cup of Java Dies from Stamp Simply.
Since I don't have the Nutty Bits pieces, I used actual chopped peanuts on my candied apple.  LOL  The sentiment I used is from Paper Sweeties.  Some Cherry Red Baker's Twine, Natural Burlap String and rusty jingle bells were the finishing touch. I made this sweet coffee/treat card to share in a few challenges where I love to play along whenever I'm able.
Thanks so much for stopping by to say hello today.  I always appreciate your visits, and I look forward to stopping by your blog and social media as well.  Have a blessed and creative week.  I hope you're enjoying some cooler temps in your neck of the woods.  It sure is nice to have a (small) break from the extreme heat here in the valley.

I'm playing along in the following:

Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge - Challenge #33 - Coffee and Candy/Cookies - I combined my coffee mug with some yummy caramel candy apples and a Christmas sentiment.

Inspiration Station Challenge - September Photo Inspiration - When I think of a farm, I think of apple trees.  I was also inspired by the colors in the photo - brown, green, and red.
Come play along!

Blessings,
Karen

You Had Me at Coffee

If you're anything like me, COFFEE is a big part of crafting.  I almost always have either a vanilla latte or a Strawberry Acai Lemonade on my workstation as I'm making my cards.  Since I'm such a lover of both coffee and card-making, it makes perfect sense that I'd want to play along at the Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenge.
I used basic white cardstock layered with an old Crate Paper patterned paper.  I ran a length of Black & White Bold Check Ribbon across my card.  The sentiment and coffee mugs from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, the frame it's in is from Paper Sweeties.  The cute yule log, candy canes and lollypops images are from Whimsy Stamps.
What else?  A couple of sequins for accent, and some plastic candy canes for fun.  The darling coffee beans scattered around my card are from Twiddler's Nook.  They have so many fun confetti mixes in different shapes, etc. at Twiddler's Nook; and the Owner, Amanda, is a sweetheart.  You'll want to check out her fabulous Etsy Shop.
I've loved participating in the Coffee Hops for many years.  In fact, there's one coming up soon for all you coffee-loving card makers out there.  It's always a lot of FUN.  You can stop by to see what Amy and her coffee crew are brewing up at the Coffee Loving Papercrafters Blog as well.

Caffeinated Christmas Card Challenges - Challenge #33 - Christmas Coffee with Candy/Treats - YES, PLEASE!  What a perfect combo.  Come and play along.

TIME OUT Challenge Blog - Challenge #271 - Friendship, Encouragement and Support - Nothing tells a friend you're thinking of them better than a handmade card with a Starbucks gift card tucked inside.  This one is going to a special friend who needs some encouragement right now.

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Simon Says "Stamp It" - Happy STAMPtember to everyone; especially to our friends at Simon Says Stamp.  I did lots of stamping on this card.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Simon Says "Recycle It" - I "recycled" this card.  I used portions of it in the past, but some things had fallen off, gotten lost, etc., so I gave it a good recycling.  I also used recycled scraps of white cardstock to stamp all the small images.  Make the most of all you've got, right?

Thanks so much for visiting me here today.  Grab a cup of your favorite beverage, get creative and come share your art out in blogland.  See you there.

Blessings,
Karen
